VITAMIX "PRO" SERIES

[ Edited ]

is really the "Propel" Series.  Checked the VitaMix website.  Don't know what "Propel" means, but doesn't appear to have anything to do with "professional".  Wonder why QVC chose to truncate the model name.

@Cats3000 I agree.  Not that I'm actually looking for a new blender, but the presentation was on and I mentioned to DH that Costco had some Vitamix bundles in the warehouse the other day when I went in.  "But is it the Pro series?" he asked.

So, today I looked on the Costco website and no, it wasnt.  But then I looked on the Vitamix website and there was no Pro there.  They use the 1st letter of the different Series and then add the number next to it..  So, this is the Propel P750.  It IS the top model of that Series which starts at $479.95.  The P750 is $629.95 so the deal on QVC is a good deal for that machine if someone is in the market for it, but it is NOT a Professional model any more than any of the their other models are.

The Costco prices, at least online, are the same as at Vitamix.

I don't enjoy cooking, so it would be a waste of $$$ for me.  My Wolfgang Puck supposedly will do all those things including making hot soup and ice cream, yet I've never done it, so I doubt I would if I got a Vitamix.  I don't like cream soups anyways.  I want "stuff" in my soup.

Re: VITAMIX "PRO" SERIES

I saw a comaprion between Professional Series 750 and Propel Serie 750. Why they would name them so similarly i dont know. I dont want to put a link in case it gets poofed but i googled Vitamix Professional Series 750 vs Vitamix Propel Series 750.

The comparison says nearly Identical. Both are 14O0 watts or so

  • Professional is quieter, 3 lbs heavier, and jar is not dishwasher safe.
  • Propel is louder, 3 lbs lighter, cord 3" longer and jar is dishwasher safe.

The TSV is clearly labeled on the front panel: Professional

I like that its heavier, gives off sturdier vibe to me. I dont have a dishwasher so that is a non-issue.

The comparison was on rtings.com after i hitting the search.

Considering there is no Pro series on the website, even under the Business tab, this must be them clearing out old stock then.  If you scroll down to Lifeisnoyoke(.)com, it says this:

The specs between these two models are nearly identical. Heck, the names are basically the same.

The biggest difference is the containers. Propel 750’s container is listed as dishwasher safe (while the Pro 750’s is not). This, in my opinion, is pretty valuable.

Other than the cosmetic differences and presumably better container, why does the Propel 750 exist? Signs point to Vitamix phasing out the Pro 750 and other “Legacy” models in favor of the streamlined Propel Series.

Why would one get the Propel 750 over the Pro 750? With performance being equal, it’d come down to price.

Personally, I would prefer the Propel since the container is dishwasher safe.

Very good info here--thanks!! I like this model alot and the price is great, I like that you can set it for a particular job and that it stops automatically---but my is only 6 or 7 years old and working fine so can't quite justlify buying a new one, but man alive--that pink is calling my name!!!
