I have ordered many items from QVC and UPS has always just left them by my door. I had a temptations order due today but they didn't leave it and the note said a signature in person was required. I have to work and not able to be home at the time they are trying to redeliver.
I had it happen to a package from an Amazon seller last week, but fortunately my parents were visiting the 2nd time and could sign for it.
I am just curious if this is something new QVC is starting?
Very annoying! I signed the back of the slip authorizing them to leave it but if it requires someone to sign in person they probably won't. UPS site wants to charge me a fee to change the delivery time. I guess I will just have to stop shopping online if this is how things are going to be from now on.

Roni18, You might want to look into using the free "UPS My Choice." Among other things (like getting automatic notifications when a shipment is on the way to your name/address), there's a preference setting "Authorize Shipment Release." It allows packages to be left with no signature, and you can change the setting any time you want.

It could be your local UPS requiring this as a result of high losses due to stolen deliveries in your area. I would call your local UPS hub and ask.

I was going to post this, too.
When this happens, it's usually UPS imposed and due to high theft in your immediate area.

I think the only time we have had to sign is for items $300 or more. Do you have a neighbor they can deliver it to? Just leave a note on your door for the UPS driver.

I used to have to sign for all of my QVC deliveries, but not anymore. They are left at my door. I wouldn't mind having to have to sign for all my deliveries. I ordered something from Plow and Hearth last week and FedEx delivered it to an entirely wrong address. The lady who found it at her door actually drove over to my place to give it to me. I appreciated her kindness, but I'm ticked at FedEx. The name and the address weren't even similar.

You must of had a recent claim that UPS put you on an automatic signature required status. Good luck getting yourself off of that because that doesn't come easy at all. It took me a minimum of 3 years due to a lost HSN package but found 2 years later after the bushes were cut down.
Could that be the case?

My thoughts, too. We get all kinds of news stories about stolen packages.
