I prefer to sign for my packages, even if it's something small. Lately, I've had to sign for all of my packages, no matter the value of what's inside the package. For example, recently I bought a pair of shoes, total price, about $60. When UPS delivered the package, I had to sign for it. No big deal.
If I am not home, UPS usually leaves it with my next door neighbor.

Sometimes if a sub is on a UPS route, they're required to ask for a delivery signature.

This happens periodically, usually after I have reported not receiving something, always their fault, and is very annoying. I call and then it goes back to them just dropping and racing off.

Could you have your packages delivered to your work?

Had several packages delivered by UPS the last 2 weeks and one package was Temp-tations. Did not need to sign for any of them & I was home. The last package that was delivered, I walked outside when I heard the UPS truck & the guy was getting back inside his truck, the comment on the tracking was, "gave to customer".

I've been shopping at QVC for close to 20 years. I've had one package not arrive (value about $20!), however, I know you have to sign for values over $500 I think. I was lucky, in December, I ordered a BOSE, and it was due to be delivered Wed, and it arrived on Monday while I was at work. I was watching the tracking very closely, and I should have had to sign for this, and I got home it was sitting by my front door, not even in a QVC box, but in a box marked BOSE, so I was really lucky it was still there. Very lucky I would say! It could depend on your neighborhood or zip code if there is a lot of theft reported. News programs said at Christmas time thieves follow Fed Ex/UPS trucks and steal deliveries from front porches. Anything can happen these days!

I work at a school so I am hesitant to have anything sent there. I just ordered something and had it sent to my mom's house. I will experiment with ordering more online this summer when I am more likely to be home and see how it goes. The people at UPS just told me the sender was requiring signature which I know is not true.

They dropped a package at my door the other day and I wasn't home. I would call and ask.

Fed Ex is the very worst. I think they use private contractors. Once, even though I was home, they left a pkg. on top of my trash can in my driveway. I've seen them use trucks with the Fed Ex logo, U-Haul trucks & plain unmarked vans. I couldn't even find their phone number to complain
