Just FYI - Two years ago I sent a gift to a friend, and found out he hadn't received a gift card.  I called QVC and was told that it was underneath the label on the outside of the box - and not even really a gift card, just a typed piece of paper, definitely no-frills.  Now I would know to look there if something mysterious arrived, but up until then I would have assumed a gift card would be somewhere more obvious.

So - even if they had requested a gift card or any kind of gift message, chances are you still might have been in the dark.

Perhaps it was there under the label. My husband opened the box and tossed the carton right away.  That's a really weird place for it in any case.

I'm sure most people wouldn't think to look for it there.  I agree that it's a weird place to put it.  At the very least, there should be some kind of indication on the box or address label that there's something underneath.

In any case, you have a nice gift and a mystery solved!  Merry Christmas!
