I' m in the market for a simple , inexpensive , rice cooker. Amazon has a bazillion of them , so if you have one you like , would you share the info ? A 2 to 3 cup capacity would be ideal . TIA.

@QVCkitty1 - a friend had this one on her Amazon registry wishlist. She received it and said she liked it. I realize it's a little, bigger than you asked for but I thought I'd mention it anyway because it has early 7,000 reviews rating it at 4.5 stars

I have one really, really nice rice cooker, and one el cheapo and guess which one I use the most? The $17.99 el cheapo! ![]()
There are lines inside so you can adjust the amount of rice and water you add, you don't have to make 6 cups at a time. I usually use jasmine rice and it always turns out great. HSN also has some rice cookers by this brand.
Edited to add: Don't forget Amazon Prime Days coming up July 8-11 - they might have rice cookers on sale then. ![]()
Another edited to add: If you are a Costco member, these already cooked sticky rice cups are tasty to have on hand:
$13.49 for 12, 7.4 oz bowls, just pull the lid back a little and micro 90 secs.

I just got a small Black and Decker from Amaz.
There are about 4 sizes and I got the next to smallest.
Has a feature to use it as a steamer.

We have had a number of rice cookers over many years. We started out with a Zojirushi with the glass lid, but it was bad about sometimes bubbling out the top and the rice was ok, not great.
All the other Zojirushi ones we have had are great. Just look for the types of grains and rice you want to cook as options. One of them is ancient--the Zojirushi Micom Fuzzy Logic one that is white and looks like an egg--still making great rice.
We also have a Green Pan carb reducing we were gifted and it's a good choice as well. You want one that is able to auto shut off and keep warm, and need to read instructions and web sites for tips about different types of rices, washing the rice, etc. We love ours and use it very often. We also like Lundberg rice!

I have a small Zoji rice cooker--prob for at least 10+ years now. But I also cook rice in my pressure cooker too. Easy, fast and comes out very nice.

@QVCkitty1 I have too little storage space for many limited use appliances. I make rice in an old covered Corningware cassorole. I freeze what is more than I'll use in 2 days, but in one-day Ziplocks.
I like having almost instant rice or spaghetti available for the days I have no real idea what I'm hungry for.

Anyone have a recipe for making a small amount in the microwave? I only cook 2/3 of a cup at a time.

I do a lot of rice so I treated myself to a fancy, expensive one.
For more intermittent use (and to save on storage) the stove top or oven work just fine. I love my rice from the oven.
