@jjb

We have the Ninja blender from a few years ago and use it for smoothies, milk shakes, etc.  I even use it to make homemade lemonade.  Love my blender.

They're offering a new Ninja system for apx. $100.  Check  Shop QVC TV at top of page on right side.

NINJA BLENDER SYSTEM - $99.98

Re: Recommendations for Blender/Food processor

My small Ninja does everything and I like that it is small. Basically, I use it for ice cream drinks, chopping veggies for soups and crushing cookies or graham crackers for dessert crusts. It came from QVC and was under $40.

 I donated my $400 vitamix after getting this. Love it!

I am team Ninja. I have one I purchased for about $99. from QVC a couple of years ago with 2 individual blender jars , a big capacity container, and one for doughs --similar to BL770 at amazon which is $150. + now. I do not see it here now.

I think the one @AuntG  is referring to is the Ninja Storm. I see it at HSN for $33. now in many colors. I have that one also and use it a lot. It chops and blends very well. I took awhile to pass the learning curve of attaching the top part (mainly a user problem Smiley Happy

I find the Ninja is excellent at making 'snow' ice and all of the functions you mentioned. Follow the advice to be very careful handling the blades though as they are extremly sharp.

They both clean easily by running for a bit with soap and water, then rinsing as any blender does.

edit: I see @tucsongal beat me to it but I agree Smiley Happy

Re: Recommendations for Blender/Food processor

@jjb  Consumer Reports recommends the Ninja Smart Screen Duo with FreshVac CT66iV for $170 over Vitamix.  I have had my Vitamix for many years and love it.  It gets used every day, but Ninja blenders get excellent reviews all of the time.

The next time that I hear salt and ice together, it better be in a margarita!

Re: Recommendations for Blender/Food processor

Is the storm strong enough to crush ice and cut up hard veggies like carrots. I like the colors!
