Do you bake your quick breads (banana, pumpkin, etc) in an 8 1/2 X 4 1/2 pan or a 9 X 5 pan?

As a general rule if the recipe only says "bread pan" I will use the 9 X 5 pan.
This is always a dilema for me if the recipe doesn't specify! If it turns out too short and doesn't fill the pan after baking, I would use the 8x4 one next time.

I use an 8 1/2 x 4 1/2 pan for my banana bread recipe. If I have extra batter from using more bananas, then I put the extra in a muffin pan, and usually get 3 or 4 muffins from that. My rhubarb bread makes a larger batter, so then I need the 9 x 5 pan. I guess the answer is that it just depends on how much batter you have.

In my Foods classes as at home I use a 9 x 5 metal. Metal pans give a more tender crust than glass.

I use a 9 x 5 pan.
That's what I normally use.
Come to think of it, I don't think that I have ever had a problem using that size of a pan...
