I measure everything - 1 cup of cheerios and i cup of 2% milk are 5 gms of fat. I add some honey - that's a freebee for me. So I do agree with you that portion control is important. My class puts a lot of empahsis on not depriving yourself of anything but eating it in smaller amounts. It is working for me - and I'm glad it is working for you. i wish i was down to only 3 # left to lose !!!

You'll make it to those last 3 pounds, happy! I know you will if you just stay with it. I thought I'd never make it, but I'm almost there.

Measuring cups.....great idea! I'll try that one, too. It can't hurt.

the other day DH wanted a hamburger so i bought a # of ground round - 92% fat free - and made that pound into 3 burgers, then split one in half so we had 2 small one and 2 large ones. We had burgers 2 nights from one # of ground meat. There is also an economy factor in eating small portions. We went to an italian restaurant last night and I had spaghetti with marinara sauce - ate half and brought half home for tonight.I'm eating my other half tonight and DH is having left over ham and bean soup. This is working out well!

HH: My DH and I seldom go out to eat, but when we do, we always bring half home for dinner or lunch the next day. Many of our local restaurants give out really big portions, much more than we really need at one sitting.

I also eat off a smaller plate. I have several fiestaware luncheon plates and use them for my dinner. Works well.

Don't know what class you are going to, but I wish you the best.
