Re: Vitamix Recipe for Banana Dessert

This was actually very easy. Three or four frozen bananas and 1 ripe banana and place all into Vitamix and let it whirl. Hope this helps and, also, that this is the desert you were referring to.

Re: Vitamix Recipe for Banana Dessert

He used 2 frozen & 1 fresh banana cut into pieces. I can't remember if he used anything else or not. I know he put chocolate syrup & walnuts on it. He said the recipe was on the Vitamix site but I did not see it. You can search online & see videos on YouTube.

He did not add anything beyond the bananas in the Vitamix. He added chocolate sauce and nuts, following. Thanks nightowlz as I did not remember the exact amount.

Good to know. For some reason I thought he added some sugar. It looked good. Would be good adding some strawberries, raspberries, blueberries or other fruit.

Re: Vitamix Recipe for Banana Dessert

I just saw Jan make the banana split again. It is for sure 2 frozen bananas & 1 fresh banana sliced in half or I would just cut into pieces. I cut bananas up & store in sandwich bags in the freezer because we use them for smoothies all the time.

Re: Vitamix Recipe for Banana Dessert

I did this before I saw this with Jan. I add a drop of good vanilla extract to mine. If I use only frozen bananas, I add a dash of milk.

I seriously couldn't believe the first time I made mine....it's JUST like ice cream! Its super-smooth & creamy. It's crazy! Now when I buy bananas, I get 6-8 bunches. I let them get good & ripe (turning slightly brown), cut them into pieces, & freeze. It's so delicious!

Very easy and just bananas unless you want to do the chocolate or another topping. I will be making this.

Re: Vitamix Recipe for Banana Dessert

This is a bit off topic . Did anyone watch Rachael Ray with the guest Sunny (can't remember last name) with her 2 ingredient recipes ? One was 4 frozen bananas and 1/4 cup cookie spread , she used a food processor but I am certain a VM would work , I used a Ninja. It was delicious, made about 4 servings. I used Biscoff spread that I had purchased and did not like as a spread but it is great in this recipe. Also saw mention of a similar recipe with Nutella. Info on her show web site. These would not be low calorie but probably not much worse than some .

Re: Vitamix Recipe for Banana Dessert

I made the banana desert tonight with the two frozen bananas ( cut in half) and one banana. The vitamix struggled at first as I used the feeder, then I just let it go and blend. Came out thinner and more like a banana shake. Maybe blended too long. Next time, I think I will do frozen bananas and a little vanilla soy milk/ vanilla. Maybe I needed to take the frozen bananas out of the freezer to thaw for 10-15 mins. I have higher end Vitamix and it seemed it needed some liquid. The soy milk would replace the one banana in the recipe. It still was yummy, just want more of an ice cream effect. Also adding other fruits as was mentioned above, is another good idea!
