About the glass vs. thermal carafe...

I think one of the "bells/whistles" on this item is that the heat source keeps the coffee in the pot at "just right" temperature based on volume, which I guess has something to do with weight.

So unless both carafes weigh the same, it seems like that feature would be negated.

Any info on weight of the different containers?

I'm waiting for the right price on this too.

esme, I think the Kohl's sale is over but I'm not sure.  That was the best price.  Now Walmart stores has the best price for it at $140 with the glass pot.

mistylady and maisy (or anyone else), have you used yours yet and if so what do you think?  I still have about a week's worth of my Rivo pods to use up before I can use mine.  But I'm so anxious to use it and hope it's what I'm wishing it will be.

I will give a quick review. It was easy to set up, the glass pot is small I think it's only 43oz.  The water tank is easy to fill and it looked beautiful on the counter. We made a pot and a single cup and 1/2 of pot. The Coffe was not as hot as our keurig. But after a day of trying it, it started to leak, we could still see water in the tank after we made Coffee and we never got a full cup or pot of coffee. But there was water in the bottom of were the water tank sits.  So back it went.  I think I am spoiled and will stick with my keurig...

Thank you maisy for your review.  Sorry you had trouble with it.  At least you didn't have to pay high s/h to send it back!  I haven't tried mine yet, I still have Kcups left.  I might start it up this weekend and just have two coffee pots on my counter until I decide if I'm happy with the Ninja.  I do know I am done with the Keurig, I'm not buying any more kcups.  I will find another coffee maker if I don't like the Ninja.

I can't give a review about the Ninja Coffee bar....but...we purchased an icoffee a few weeks ago to replace our Keurig in our kitchen.  We absolutely love it!!  We've had several Keurigs over the years, and currently have one in our home bar for drinks that have coffee in them...but this icoffee opus is really superior to the Keurig. It has a dial that allows you to easily adjust the amount of coffee that you want to brew in 1/2 oz increments from 4 oz to 12 oz.  You can use any K cup that you want...you're not limited to Keurig products. It also comes with it's own reusable coffee pod that we think makes a superior cup of coffee to Keurig, when you use your own coffee.  We purchased our machine at Bed, Bath and Beyond for $139.  We replaced the kitchen Keurig due to pump issues.

I bought this last weekend at Bed Bath and Beyond with the 20% coupon. I went with the stainless steel carafe. Set-up was a breeze. It looks awesome on the counter. But I'm not loving it yet. Every mornings I've been using maxwell house in the single cup side and I I have yet to get a good tasting cup of coffee. I have tried varying the amount of coffee each time and chose classic brew for all of them. I must be spoiled by the green mountain nantucket blend K cups I've been drinking.

I also made a spiced pumpkin latte over the weekend and that was really good. I do love the milk frother.

I've really been looking at alternatives to the k-cups, but if the coffee continues to taste this bad I'm going to have to return it. Maybe it's the maxwell house?
