The head tends to jump and I have to hold it down to knead the dough. I think it would be fine with a single loaf (1 cup liquid and 3 cups of flour to make one standard loaf.)
Yep. for bread and big batches you really need the big 6 qt. ones! The Artisan is great for many things, but it doesn't do well with big bread dough.
I'm so happy to hear from someone who actually has one. I can't wait to see them (going to look in the heater closet to check the available space. . . LOL!!!)
@Nuttmeg Yes, we have a generator! We get ice storms here in Oklahoma!!!!! LOL!!!
Hey ! I'm in Amarillo, Tx we're heading to the shoppes at Ok City soon. Never been there before just off I-40

Yes it would! GREAT idea!!! Are you sending cash? Remember, I'm inheriting your collection! LOL!!!!
I just took a load to the Salvation Army today. But I need to take another, and another. . . I am getting rid of cookbooks mostly.
Oh, I haven't forgotten!
Better make that new room big enough for not only your massive stand mixer collection, but a whole heck of a lot of LC pots!

LOL!!!! I just acquired two new Emile Henry baking pans today--a loaf pan and an square baker. They are on sale and then extra discount at Williams Sonoma. They are changing the styles a little and the ones with the straight edge are at a VERY good price. Online too!!! LOL!!!! 4 packs of dish towels for $9.99 - and extra 25 percent too!!! I stocked up on those.
I need another garage. . .

Your worse then me, Ms. Sooner. I got a husband who howls at me that helps to keep me in check.
When I was young I used to squirrel in pups and kept them hidden from an Aunt who didn't like animals, now, I'm squirrling pressure cookers and mixers. LOL

I just bought a 5 qt KA mixer at Target for $104 on clearance. They had 3 only in white. I used my red card and my total was $98.xx 👍🏼

you cleaned up girl, probably didn't come with all the beaters, extra bowl and recipe book though.

It came with the whisk, dough hook, regular beater and 1 5 qt metal bowl. It did not have a pouring shield.

Sounds good ! I don't give a rip about the pouring shield anyway. I like that flex edge beater though.
I had to adjust the beater height on mine. Seems like it's different everytime you change bowls. My Cuisinart not like that.

I don't drink, smoke or honky tonk if my biggest vice is my kitchen helps, then, not hurting anybody. Not asking anybody to pay my bills. LOL
My new and best answer when ANYONE says to me "Why do you"--BECAUSE I DON'T DRINK, SMOKE or HONKY TONK! This is the best advice I have EVER received
