@Whosits Right now I'm buying espresso pods from San Francisco Bay, which are biodegradable. One reason I hesitate to buy a Nespresso is because of their plastic pods, although you can send them back to them to recycle. I'm seriously considering just getting a milk frother and continuing using the pods that I'm using now.

Nespresso does offer free recycling of the pods. They will give you a bag that you can simply drop off at UPS, some stores, like Sur La Table, all at no cost to you. The capsules are aluminum not plastic. They keep coffee really fresh too!
Sur La Table and others have BIG sales on them now, and specials on packages that come with the frothers! And for the original line pods, you can get them at lots of places. They just don't make larger coffee servings like the newer ones.

@Sooner It sounds like you prefer the newer line of Nespresso coffee makers. Is that correct? Is it because of the size of the servings? I would like larger servings and also want to be able to make iced lattes.
A lot of the reviews say the machine leaks. That's the main reason I hesitated originally. I'd be interested in the Vertuo Plus or Vertu Plus Deluxe. Also, I read the owner's manual, and it doesn't mention iced lattes, although I'm pretty sure it makes them. Is that true?
I am pretty much ready to order the Vertuo Plus with double espresso pods if you didn't have problems with your machine. Why did you switch to a different espresso machine?

@NickNack LOL!! First of all I do not drink coffee. Never have, don't like it. I LOVE espresso! I LOVE iced coffees with milk and coffee, and other milk/coffee (espresso) drinks.
My husband drinks coffee, but has his own coffee machine for that. He does drink an Americano often too out of the Nespresso machine
I have never had a Vertuo machine--only Pixies, Essenzas, and Lattissima. They all use the original size capsules. The Nespresso site has, I think, lots of coffee "recipes" in the information they have.
I make a lot of iced coffee drinks, but I use espresso shot (or two) and cold milk then add ice. I love those! When I worked I left every morning with one. From the cheaper machines (had them in my office and my husband and others had them) Nespresso makes to Pixie's (used to be made in Switzerland!) and the Lattissima I have had good results.
Sorry, but I can't speak to the Vertuo machines in particular, but have been very happy with Nespresso in general. Their pods are wonderful--even my husband admits that and uses them often. We are big on cappucinos here!
But whatever you want, Sur La Table and other places will have some great deals. I know that Williams-Sonoma and SLT are both good about returns. Amazon too. So that might be a factor for you! Try one!

@Sooner I'm calling them coffee machines, but espresso is what I want them for, too. I would like to make it iced or hot. I think I'm going to call Nespresso today to make sure all of the machines make iced lattes. I would like to use the double espresso pods to make the lattes. Thanks so much for your feedback.

@NickNack I do not know of any of the machines that cool. You use the output over ice at least that's what I've always done. I'll be interested to hear what you find out.
I think it's a great idea. I called them once or twice about something and they were VERY helpful! Make sure if you buy a machine you get samples and/or other "stuff" with it! LOL!!!!

@Sooner Many of the machines are on sale right now and come with sample pods.

@NickNack AND frothers! If you get a machine that needs one. That's sometimes a real savings!
