Re: Need licorice (candy) substitute

Licorice was the only candy my Mom would eat. There are many health benefits to eating licorice. Now, I am not sure how many of these health benefits you would get from eating Twizzlers. BUT Twizzlers sure smell good and I happen to have a bag of Twizzlers right next to me. I like to open the bag and just smell it.

Twizzlers are not  true licorice - even the black ones that aren't that popular.  There are very few real licorice candies around now.

Twizzler nibs were recommended to me by my doctor as a small snack instead of chocolate since I'm a sweet junkie but he said to eat a few when I got cravings but - well- you know how that goes!!

It's the sugar! Old favorite of mine too.  But think of the sugar as destroying teeth, and your whole body.  I'm sure a lot of our ails are due to sugar.

Do you like all Twizzlers flavors or just the licorice (black) flavored?  I haven't had licorice flavored in a long time, in fact I rarely see it in stores.

Well, I learned something new today.  I never knew Twizzlers came in licorice flaver . . . I have only seen (and loved) the red ones.

So true!

"Real" licorice candy is expensive.
