Need licorice (candy) substitute

I can't stop eating Twizzlers!

Can anyone think of a healthy substitute?

I started making sweet potato chips, but they don't last long and don't have the same consistency as Twizzlers.  So chewy!

But, I've got to stop!

Fennel tastes a lot like licorice

I can't offer a candy sub, but if you like tea, a licorice flavored tea may help with your craving for the taste.  My preferred brand is Yogi.

Maybe try the licorice bites called 'Nibs', they're licorice but smaller than Twizzlers, which might slow ya' down a bit, LOL!

@RinaRina I feel the same way about gummy bears. I used to buy the larger bag and finish them off by myself in a day or two. There are times I crave gummy bears. As a "joke" DD in Houston sent me a 5lb bag from Amazon for Christmas . I totally understand. I haven't bought any in at least two weeks and still crave them at times. Don't know why.

@OKPrincess

Oh No! The only other candy that I LOVE, LOL!

I used to buy the huge bags from Sam's, but cancelled my membership, so I'm in withdrawal.

Twizzlers (licorice only) and Gummi Bears are like potato chips, ya' can't eat just a couple!

They're chewy.  I've bought a giant size tub of bubble gum thinking I'd "chew" that instead, but it's NOT the same.  Then I bought some mints.  Still ..not the same.

So, I understand your craving for the gummies.

I used to make "paleo" gummies thinking it would be a healthy protein substitute snack.

Still, they're not the same as Twizzlers.  Couldn't match the chewiness of Twizzlers!

I have the same problem with Dots.   I can eat the whole big yellow boxes.   I suggest a candy that lasts longer - for me Jujube's  last longer - and they are still chewy after awhile.

@KingstonsMom Then you understand our "withdrawal" pain. I love Twizzler bits too. Maybe it's a texture thing too.
