We ate at Bob's Big Boy - we actually have one right here a short way from my house. They use to be everywhere - my Mother loved them - and most disappeared. We got the first one to come back and I elieve there about 5 others in California now - cannot imagine why they closed as their food is second to none. . Super great food. I had a Wedge Salad, chunk of lettuce with the best ever Roquefort Dressing, with bacon bits and bits of tomatoes - super good crunchy garlic bread as a go with. Davey had a Something"??? Burger and he woofed it down. Leah had a cracker. What can I say. We decided, however that the next time we go to a restaurant with Leah she has to use a chair. The car seat restricts her and she does NOT like that but she is still good. She will be one year old on the 29th. Have no clue where the time went.

Got one of Sam's great hams - with glaze mix also - love their hams. Anyway had some important running around to do so told Shannon to put it in the oven at a certain time, certain temp and cook it for 2 1/2 hours. Take it out and I would glaze it when I returned. Well LOL, some people cannot understand that - it was kept in the oven and she lowered the heat - hmn - until I got home - 4 hours later. It was well done and not good although I glazed it - just horrible. Actually it was burnt. I even left those printed instructions right by the stove. Someone please tell me why I cannot figure out even anything this simple. Had French green beans and mashed potatoes - they were good.
Horribly hot and tomorrow is going to be hotter so our electric company says to cut back on electricity. They drive me insane. Guess we will have this every day for the next four days as all are suppose to be in triple digits - only 107 plus today. Hmn.
Stay cool one and all.

No cooking tonight - enough food hanging around to feed an army so I ain't going to slave. Not only that I do not need to use my stove - it is electric. Today and tomorrow - and I suspect perhaps the rest of the week - it is excessively HOT and we are once again on power saving from 2 to 6 - hottest time of the day. Just miserable today.
Stay cool one and all.

I picked several varieities and colors of cherry tomatoes today, so tonight for dinner we had those and mozzarell ba--s halved, with fresh basil, oregano, and thyme that I cut tonight, with garlic in extra virgin olive oil, salt/pepper, and flatbread which I heat on the gas flame until a bit charred and warm, so yummy. The tomatoes are so flavorful, some really sweet, some mildly. Still waiting for the large tomatoes to ripen.

Good Morning Preds - and thank you for the greeting.
Mousiegirl, you are a busy cook - that's a lot of work. So hot here would not want to even go pick anything. Course I no longer grow anything so I have no worries along those lines.
Yesterday was miserable and it is suppose to be even hotter today. Just dread it.
Well I hear the little girl talking to whomever so I had best get to her and change her - always number one priority when she wakes up. LOL. then a fresh bottle.
Have a good day one and all.

@Winifred This was the easiest meal ever, and on a hot night, the best. The only food missing was roasted peppers, but that would have heated the kitchen, so didn't do it. Apparently, your area is getting the big heat, but then I have always thought since this is N. CA, it should be cooler, but until this year, that wasn't the case. I keep waiting for the other shoe to drop, so to speak, and we are hit by a heat wave lasting months, but keep hoping by some miracle it will bypass us.
