Re: If You Had To Pick......

I like most potato salads so I would choose that.

I do like a simple pasta salad but most have to much stuff I don't care for in them.

Re: If You Had To Pick......

I love potatoe salad so that is my pick.  I don't like pasta salad except for one DH makes.

It is elbows and shells, sweet & sour dressing, hard boiled eggs, cheddar cheese or colby jack, and what makes it special for me is the crab meat he puts in it.

Re: If You Had To Pick......

Can I make a polite request for both please.  I'm British and make potato salad different to what I've tried here but love it as well.  Again though, definitely no egg in either dish.  When's the next event please, I'll be round with the alcoholic refreshments.

My Mom made the best potato salad. I'd pick that.

Potato salad over pasta salad.  I also love a good mac salad.

[ Edited ]

I'm usually quite the pasta girl and I just made macaroni salad and tuna yesterday, (since I don't eat meat on Fridays during Lent)...but that said...I love a good potato salad (that pic looks yummy!)

So, at a picnic I love the potato salads best...with egg or without, vinegar/mayo type (is that German?) or regular straight mayo. Red potatoes, or white. Love them all.

By the way...best one I ever made was by Tyler Florence from his show "Tyler's ultimate" from over a decade ago...but perhaps can be Googled. In that Food Network show he would take usual recipes and kick them up a notch or two, making them even better. Was a great show with great recipes; I tried many, all SO good.

I like both, depends on if the potato salad is made with mustard in it.  If not then the pasta salad.

Re: If You Had To Pick......

I'd go with potato salad - MY potato salad. Any time we have a friends' gathering in the summer, they all request my potato salad so I'm going with this. You'd be glad I did too!!!

Although I will say I do have a recipe or two for really good pasta/macaroni salad that I now enjoy making. This one is tricky I think to make a really good one. My mother made macaroni salad that totally turned me off to this one. She never put anything in it except a little onion and celery, it was very bland and very uneventful. I didn't eat it. Through the years her potato salad ended up the same way.

Both of my salads are very tasty.
