Re: I love the KitchenAid Spiralizer

I've been having this for awhile but have never used. Is it easy to assemble & attach?

TIA

There really isn't any assembling involved. You just slide it into the hub like all the other attachements they sell. You do have to choose and attachment the blade and peeler ( if you want to also peel).

I got the KitchenAid spiralizer attachment this week and I love it. I've had a suction base apple peeler, corer, slicer for a long time and I bought a Paderno spiralizer awhile back. But I'm glad I went ahead and got the KA attchment version. It's nice to not have to deal with the suction losing it's grip mid process. The KA spiralizer is more stable since it's attached to the machine. It's so well made and the storage box is great as everything has it's own spot. Now I'm planning on buying the additional ribbon and angelhair blades that are exclusive elsewhere.

Last night I spiralized a fat carrot and made a wrap for dinner with hummus, chicken breast, carrot and tomato. I also spiralized a cucumber to make a cucumber salad with rice wine vinegar.

@jaxs mom: Thanks for the heads up review! Just ordered it.

This year I converted to a heart-healthy plant diet, and the spiralizer looks like a promising tool!

@1Professor Did you see they have extra attachments for the spiralizer that makes ribbons and angelhair noodles? K305789 I ordered them also, but I haven't gotten then yet.

@jaxs mom: Thanks for the heads up!

In the meantime, I just ordered several spiralizer cookbooks, for inspiration. Plus they are NOT expensive. Amazon. Great reviews.

That one book is from the author of the Inspiralized blog. She has recipes and videos on her blog. @1Professor

Re: I love the KitchenAid Spiralizer

can you adjust the thickness of the apple rings?  They look pretty thick on the presentation they did.  I would want them thinner

Re: I love the KitchenAid Spiralizer

I have a sprializer and like it alot, I do mostly zuchinni/squash. haven't tried anything else but Ali at insprialized dot com has recipes  every day.

I did try some butternut squash noodles that I got at WF, but we didn't like them as much, they got mushy, could be the chef as well.  FWIW they would be too hard to do myself
