Re: How do you take your coffee?

I pretty much got put of the habit of drinking anything in the morning.  Got tired of coffee, don't really care for tea.

Re: How do you take your coffee?

I love the smell of brewed coffee!   However, @ 63 years old, drinking coffee, or any hot drink, is just not my thing.   I didn’t drink coffee in my younger years, and have little interest in it now that I’m retired.

My husband drinks coffee with his friends, but never makes coffee here at home.

Re: How do you take your coffee?

Drip coffee, black.

First priority is freshness.

I can't stand old "cooked" coffee.

I make a few small batches, each no more than I'm going to drink in the next 10-15 minutes. After that the oils become bitter and the cooked taste starts.

Tip I read several years ago: if you brew with a filter, remove it from the coffeemaker as soon as it's done brewing.

Don't leave the filter sitting in the basket above the pot, where bitter oils in the grounds will drip into your pot of coffee.

Re: How do you take your coffee?

Since DH quit coffee, I can't drink a pot myself and don't want to buy a box of Keurig pods just for me, I use a fully automatic espresso machine, easy peasy. I like an Americano with one shot of espresso, steamed 1% milk and a slosh of flavored syrup gives me enough flavor and caffeine to start my engine. No wasted coffee, push a few buttons and my cup is ready in a few short minutes.

Re: How do you take your coffee?

I grind my own beans and drink one cup every morning (black and strong) using french press.  In the summer I will drink one more cold brew later in the morning (homemade...it's a slow process but worth it).  I don't do sweeteners or artificial anything.  I can't have caffeine after lunch or it messes with my sleep.

I LOVE the smell and taste of good fresh coffee!  I can't imagine life without it.

I also enjoy green tea, mint tea and black tea occasionally.

Re: How do you take your coffee?

I don’t drink coffee, hot tea or hot chocolate.  I don’t like hot drinks.  Places like Starbucks are wasted on me.

I have a really small glass of juice with breakfast, 5 oz.

Why is it, when I have a 50/50 guess at something, I'm always 100% wrong?

Re: How do you take your coffee?

We use a French press.  I drink mine with half-n-half & sugar (the real stuff)!  I’ve drank it this way since I was 5 years old.  Of course my mama gave me more milk than coffee.
