I have a Kitchen-Aid mixer but my mother only had a hand mixer.   I have a food processor  and Vita-Mix which was not even heard of in my mother's day.    I also have an air-fryer and a convection table-top oven.

The only table-top appliances my mother had was an electric skillet, waffle iron, toaster and hand-held mixer.

She passed away many years ago but she would be so surprised at how many more appliances are available for homemakers today.

@ECBG   Fascinating topic.  My mother died in 1990.  She did have a GE huge capacity microwave, which was a gift from me, circa 1988, when it was still made in the USA, which she used all the time, especially after she became very ill.

Kitchen Aid bowl lift stand mixer

Nesco electric roaster

pressure cooker

automatic dish washer

wide array of baking pans and associated tools since she didn't bake

automatic ice maker in the refrigerator

electric can opener

My mom and dad had more kitchen items than I do! Dad loved new things and my mother loved kitchen gadgets. I hate electric can openers - she had one. They used their old pressure cooker weekly - I don't have one. She had cookie sheets in all sizes - I have two. They used well-seasoned cast iron skillets - I don't own any. My dad bought a huge microwave when they were first introduced - I didn't get one until 2 years later! They had a  Nesco electric oven and used it every week....I wish I had room for one. My dad bought a Bunn coffee maker before I'd ever heard of them (nor did I care at the time!). Mom had a Kitchen Aid mixer - I have a GE hand held mixer! So much for time changing - but fun memories for me!

My Mom was not into cooking gadgets, she was a simple cook and all she needed was a good knife, wooden cutting board, a grater and a hand mixer. I have everything and don't use half of it and I love to cook.

I don't remember my mother having a lot of appliances.  I think there was a toaster and a mixer.  My mother was the dishwasher.

Easier to say what my Mother had. The only thing my Mother had in her kitchen was an electric stove, plain refrigerator, 2-slice toaster,  hand mixer, and perculator.

My grandmother had more appliances than I do.   I still make coffee in a stove-top perc.....and I don't even have a toaster.

Ninja chopper and K-cups came to mind. Oh, how can I forget my Air Fryer? Probably my favorite appliance.
