we have a few delis here that roast their turkey breast in house and then i get it sliced......so delicious. i buy that once a week or so.
i only make a whole turkey maybe twice a year.......a turkey breast maybe twice a year......the full fixings with them.
turkey sandwich.......wheat toast, a good mayo (hellmanns or dukes), red and juicy tomatoes (campari this time of the year), sea salt, freshly ground pepper......sometimes crispy bacon also.

I eat turkey for Thanksgiving and Christmas (usually at a relative's home). I cook a breast a couple times a year. Serve with a box of Stove Top, some veggies and a can of cranberries. I make soup with the leftover meat.
@alicedee OH! MY!!! You poor thing! I hope they send you home with some! I'd go nuts!!!
@ECBG Yeah, wherever I'm eating, they always send me home with leftovers! They take good care of me!

@cookie16 I follow the recipe on the Jenny-O turkey breast wrapper. When I get it out of the freezer I will check back and and write it down if you still need it!
It's simple...I think it's just put a little water in the crockpot and cut some slits in the cooking bag it is in once you remove the wrapper. Then cook for 4-5 hours.
But I will get the exact directions for you tomorrow.

Whole one - Thanksgiving only. Might have shredded turkey sandwiches a few times a year.

Once a year - and that's plenty. I'm not a fan of the taste, except for maybe smoked turkey breast occasionally. On the other hand, I love dressing, gravy and cranberries, although I don't need a turkey for those yummy dishes!

Love the mashed potatoes and dressing - others can have the turkey.

I buy sliced turkey from the Deli Dept. occasionally.

never, if i have a say in it. we don't do turkey for thanksgiving anymore either. doesn't help our little town is overrun with flocks of big wild turkeys. blech.

I do the whole roast turkey dinner a few times a year during the winter months. i always seem to get free turkeys at the holiday time.
My DH likes turkey, but I think chicken is 1000x better. So, once those free turkeys are gone, I make chicken.

I absolutely LOVE LOVE turkey!!!
After Christmas WM had butterball premium whole turkeys on sale for .20/lb. I bought 2.
Tonight, we enjoyed hot turkey sandwiches. I made a big batch of "stuffing" for tonight and the freezer.
The other is still in the freezer. I plan to make it for company coming in March - I don't do all the fixings like at holidays.
I like it for turkey salad, sandwiches, pot pies and more...
