I am making pumpkin bread for a bake sale tomorrow in disposable foil pans.
When I put them in the oven, do I put these pans directly on the oven rack, or should I put the pans on a cookie sheet and then on the rack?
TIA for your assistance.

Either way, doesn't matter. I doubt it will drip out into your oven If it does, your recipe needs adjustment. Why pumpkin bread? It's nearly spring.

Pumpkin bread sounds delicious, I do mine right on the rack.

Iceberg: Why pumpkin bread? Because I have a fabulous recipe and also I think it's been long enough since the holidays that people may like it.
I am also making a lemon pound cake (in small pans), and Chocolate Chip-Caramel Cookie Bars and Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip bars, so I wanted something without nuts or chocolate in it and thought the pumpkin bread and lemon pound cake would cover those bases.

It depends on how sturdy the pan is. If you think it might leak or collapse, I'd sit it in a rectangular baking pan. If it's sturdy, it's probably okay just to go into the oven, but I would probably still use a cookie sheet.

@wismiss Everything sounds yummy. I just made a pumpkin pie last night before dinner. But I love pumpkin bread. And those cookie bars now are tempting me.

@wismiss - If you're using disposable mini loaf pans, I'd put them on a baking sheet because it helps with transferring them into and out of the oven, but if you're comfortable placing them directly on the rack, they'll work just fine. If you're using a regular size disposable loaf pan, it can definitely go directly on the oven rack.
And for whatever it's worth, I just made a loaf of pumpkin apple bread last weekend; it's one of my year-round favorites! Happy baking...

I hear ya! I have a pumpkin bread recipe and a pumpkin bundt cake recipe that I love making. What's not to love! If you plan your year ahead you can get Libby's pumpkin puree any time. I don't see any reason to not have pumpkin goodies any time of the year.
Well, it used to be that you could easily purchase it all year long but in the last few years it's been more difficult. I use it for the dog (a spoonful in his breakfast) and also for making things, so I buy about 15 cans every fall so I'm set for the year. ![]()

Forgot to say - as to the baking in the disposable tins, I would probably put them on a sheet pan of some sort (something rigid), but it's probably not necessary.
