Oh, how pretty! I've never seen the deer pattern before.
Yes, mine is Churchill Queen's Myott. Some of my pieces were made in England but the later ones were made elsewhere. They also made the turkey pattern in blue or brown only, but I like the multi-color.
I have just the one plate, which I picked up at Goodwill. I do think it is lovely. I've also seen these other designs from the Churchill wildlife series, with the same border design:
Ducks.....
.....and pheasants (quail?):
I have only the one deer plate, but have enjoyed seeing the others online. I'm not sure if all the designs with this floral/botanical border were part of one "Wildlife" set of dishes including all the animals in it, or if there were complete dinnerware services featuring just one of the animal designs. I've also seen other Churchill plates with different hunting/outdoor/animal designs.

Cute pattern pupwhipped, with the snowman, you can use them all winter.
I mix my Spode Christmas Tree pattern with Pfaltzgraff Winterberry for Christmas!

Oh, I just love hearing your stories. Thanks, everyone. I've never collected extra sets of holiday things, and don't do much themed decorating, personally, but I sure enjoy the lovely things and how much pleasure you get from them. I grew up with the nice tradition of keeping things "for good," but when I entertain, I buy flowers and wonderful wine to share, and use my regular things. I've been thinking about teaching the cats to wear sparkly collars...

Maybe this is better, fingers crossed.

I USED to have my hubby's family here for Thanksgiving when our kids were small and most likely the dishes I used were "early Corelle"! Last year, my dad passed away and left me a bit of money, not a lot, but enough to take some time to consider what I would do with it. Since my mom passed on before dad, I knew I wanted to use it for something I could honor their memory with and also pass down to my kids. After MUCH thought, I decided that I would splurge and buy "good" Christmas dishes. Both my parents LOVED Christmas and family dinners for any reason or no reason. last fall my hubby and I were traveling thru Lancaster, PA and stopped at a Lennox outlet. I KNEW exactly what pattern I wanted, Well, that went out the window as I saw "Winter Greetings" which was more expensive than the pattern I originally liked. Yes, there was a special, but I still felt like it was just more money than I wanted to spend. I actually left the store and sat in the car. After about 10 minutes, my hubby came out and asked me to come back I and talk to the manager, he had heard my hubby's story and wanted to talk to me. I was blown away..6 piece service for 12.. At exactly what I was willing to pay. Got it! Being that it is not a pattern that is solely "Christmas" , but can be used all winter, and the fact moms favorite bird, the cardinal is on it...it is the best purchase I have ever made! I can still hear my dad saying "use your good things all the time"! So..last year, I had the opportunity to use my new china not once, but three or four times during Thanksgiving thru the New year! Having said that, when we go to my aunts for Thanksgiving, it will be on the stoneware she has had for years and paper plates for dessert...and who cares?? it's the people and the bond we share that makes it memorable!!
Glinda, Your story tugged at my heart. What a beautiful tribute to your parents.
I have seen the Winter Greetings pattern in person and no picture can do it justice. The service pieces are so elegant and you can tell that they are, to coin a phrase, "so money" by just looking at them. You are truly blessed. Enjoy your holiday meals on them in good health.

Love all of those pictured. i would love to have a set, but have too many sets already. I just use my Fransiscan Mariposa for events like this. I do have Christmas dishes since I feel I can use them for a longer time.

I use Fiesta for everyday, but for the winter months, it's Winterberry by Pfaltzgraf. I pack the Fiesta away during the Veterans Day holiday when I'm off work for the day. Those dishes stay out until the end of February, sometimes right around the beginning of March. The nice thing about Winterberry is that it's Christmassy, but it's also wintry and can be used for months.
We have a service for 20, plus lots of assorted casseroles and serving pieces. Pitchers, the large soup tureen, pie pans, etc. I use the Winterberry sleigh to serve yeast rolls at dinner and the 3-tiered trays for appetizers and such.
Sadly, I stopped buying Winterberry when I realized that Pfaltzgraf moved their operations to China. Most, but not all, of our Winterberry was made in the US.
