For some reason, I can't get the link to work.
Go to Williams-Sonoma Egg-Perfect Egg Timer. There's a pic of the timer in a pot of eggs. You can see the markings on the timer: hard, medium, and soft. (The eggs in the pot are cooked to medium.) You just put the eggs and the timer in a pot of water, turn on the burner, and let the water heat to the doneness you want of the eggs. Works every time.

I got it on Amazon using a name search without WS in the search.
Thank You!

I used to bring a big pot of eggs to a boil, turn them off and put a lid on and let them sit but I don't remember egg-actly (!) how long. Somewhere between 13 and 20 minutes--then pour cold water on them.
We eat eggs done for 4 min. either bring to a boil or put in boiling water; poached eggs--just in water gently turned in out of a cup; scrambled over very low heat and not beaten up before going in the pan--no milk or water in them; and over easy and we have an electric egg cooker we love. Is that eggcess? Do we have eggcessive compulsive-disorder? Are we egg-ceptional in our egg-cession?

I put 2 eggs in a pot with cold water, turn on the gas on high, as soon as it starts to boil I take the pot off the gas. Eggs are just the way I like them.

How do you get the top off a soft boiled egg? I whack the top with a butter knife held sideways but hubby uses one of those little round egg toppers. I always pry the little piece out of the top and eat it. I put lots of salt and PEPPER on and dig in.

I love soft boiled too and usually have really good luck in not getting runny whites, I take the eggs out of the refrigerator and let them come up to room temperature and then I add them via a spoon to boiling salted water carefully so they don't crack, boil them exactly 6min 20 sec and usually they are perfect. Good luck!!! hope this helps...

I whack mine with a butter knife, too, but I chop it up with my spoon and eat it on toast or English muffin.

You just punch a tiny pinhole in each egg and put in the basket and it tells you how much water to put in and then turn - perfect every time. QVC has several. The 2 cheapest ones are K38076 A Cooks Essential one for $14.40 and K39370 - Eggspress Egg Cooker for $19.98. You can also make omlet like eggs or poached eggs in these.
Yep these are amazing! I use one too. They cook the eggs perfect every time.
