@ECBG, No Fresh Market has a bakery, deli, and fresh cut meat dept. and also a salad bar, also a nice wine collection.

Gosh, Publix Bakery is really nice, but I try not to buy from them that much, LOL!  They have a delicious Carrot Cake, Apple Pies, and a Chocolate cake to die for.  I have also bought cupcakes for the grands!

@Hooty,Sorry luv, another question. Are the apples in the apple pire really cooked?  I HATE apples that crunch in pie!  I know people laugh at southerners because it took a long time to cook crisp tender!  I just don't want pie to be firm fruit.  If I want raw, I'll have that.

Re: Do You Have A Fresh Market? Whole Foods?

I found a Fresh Market near the Albany airport a couple of years ago.  I stopped for lunch and a few things while on a business trip.  It was really nice inside, not like a regulary grocery store setup.

I work across the street from Whole Foods and will go there for a food emergency or if I need one thing in a hurry.

I love Publix in Florida when I visit my family there.  Their orange juice is the best.  I drink about 5 gallons when I'm there.  LOL

Don't like either.  If you live in NC you should be getting Publix in your area...they have the best bakery & prices are way cheaper than either Whole Foods or Fresh Market. You might also be getting Sprouts soon.  They're a new "organic" speciality chain that is taking away the business from Whole Foods, Trader Joe's & Fresh Market...Try Publix Bakery, you won't be disappointed!Woman Happy

I don't like Sprouts at all. The store is messy and not as much organic produce, and what they have is high.  I also think their selection of baking and canned and other grocery items isn't great

ido love Natural Grocers!  Small store but all organic produce and

I think better baking goods, nuts, and other items I use plus easy in and out and friendly helpful staff

We have both Fresh Market and Whole Foods.  Fresh Market is a beautiful store, more of a gormet type store as opposed to Whole foods, which has more of a focus on organic, health food, green, fairtrade, global, etc.

Both stores are pricey, but i definitely go to Fresh Market once in a while as it is pleasant, good customer service, beautiful store.  Whole Foods i have never been a fan of.  Their prices are rediculously expensive, unfriendly customer service.  Im not into the whole green, liberal agenda thing and Whole Foods is definitely the epitome of a progressive agenda company  Fresh Market is a beautiful, gormet focused, traditional shop and is a pleasure to be there.  That said, both stores are pricey but i do go to Fresh Market especially during holidays for the specialty items you cant find in the supermarket.

Fascinating.

Whole Foods founder and CEO is the (in)famous John Mackey, well-known as someone who

"... is a strong supporter of free market economics, has strong anti-union views, and co-wrote the best-selling book Conscious Capitalism [Liberating the Heroic Spirit of Business]."

"In a debate in the October 2005 issue of Reason magazine... Mackey said that he is a free market libertarian. He said that he used to be a democratic socialist in college. As a beginning businessman he was challenged by workers for not paying adequate wages and by customers for overcharging, during a time when he was having difficulty breaking even. He began to take a more capitalistic worldview, and discovered the works of Ludwig von Mises, Friedrich Hayek and Milton Friedman. Mackey is an admirer of some of Ayn Rand's novels."
