I make it in my vitamix----same with the other nuts---probably not any less pricy unless you can buy in bulk maybe----use the cashews to make a delicous alfredo like sauce that is dairy free---

I make it in the food processor adding a little honey and salt for taste.  If it seems to thick, I add a touch of vegetable oil.

Great idea making the cashew butter!  Just wanted to share that you can purchase raw cashews at a really good price at Sam's Club.

Re: Cashew Butter

Love it and almond butter too!  You know what is the best?!!...freshly ground nut butter.  Whole Foods offers it.  My local grocer has it too.  Just put a container under the machine, turn it on and it comes out warm and so delicious!

My Target sells cashew butter.

But if you have a Fresh Thyme nearby their cashews are selling for the ridiculously low sale price of $4.99/lb and you could be adventurous and make your own!

Trader Joe’s in Northern California has it, more expensive than the other nut butters, of course. It is also highly caloric. However, since 4 kidney stone surgeries, almonds are on a LONG list of foods I am supposed to avoid. I don’t ever want to have to go through that again, so for almost 2 years I have had no almonds. I did just buy my first jar of almond butter at at T.J.’s recently. Can’t justify the extremely high calorie count for the cashew butter. Will be consuming the almond butter sparingly. Give it up for life? Not realistic.
