I have a Kitchenaid side-by-side refrigerator that's 19 years old and is still working.  I keep wondering when it will give out.  The only reason I'll replace it before it does, is that all our other appliances are now black, and the fridge is bisque.

My friend has a Samsung French-door fridge, has had it for years and loves it.  She said she'd buy another one, if this one failed.  She doesn't have the ice-maker/water dispenser on the outside of the door; it's just a straight-forward refrigerator, so that may make a difference.

I do know, when I replace mine, I just want a simple fridge.  I don't need one that I can control by wi-fi or that has software to keep "stock" of what's in it!  The more complicated they get, the more there is to go wrong.  I just want it to keep my food cold.

@Abrowneyegirl

From my own experience -- don't buy Samsung appliances🤬

I have a french door fridge and 13 months ice maker froze up -- flooded my kitchen and inside of fridge😡

Fought these past 3 years with Samsung ...gave up can't wait til it dies to toss to the curb.

My sister bought Samsung front loader washing machine -- leaks.

They make good electronics  I hear but not good appliances.

Bought LG kitchen 3 years ago, fridge, dishwasher, range, micro.  So far so good. Fridge is French doors with 2 drawers below, counter depth model. Water and ice in door. No problems with it, but there are just the two of us. All my appliances are very gently used. Mine is the standard stainless finish which I hate because I'm constantly wiping it down. It's not the fingerprints as hubby and I do not make fingerprints. It's the water drips. Every time a drop of water runs down the front I have to get out my stainless polishing cloth to get rid of drip mark. Wish I had investigated finishes more before buying. I would only buy the brushed stainless that doesn't show marks. But that finish is not very attractive.   Black stainless chips, peels and scratches so don't want that. Think I'd go back to white finish if had the option. My former harvest gold appliances never showed a single mark with a family of five and large dog.
