Appliance question

I was surprised to see that Consumer Reports rates LG and Samsung refrigerators with high marks.

I have NEVER known anyone to have either who did not have consistent problems and repairs.

Now I will admit I did buy (a special order) LG french door refrigerator withOUT the indoor ice/water dispenser. (this was before I knew of the problems) We had it a few years with no problems and left it in that house when we moved.

Anyone here have any luck with LG or Samsung. I love their electronics but not their appliances.

My appliances in Athens I have in my house:

Samsung 2 tv sets

Samsung washing machine

LG refrigirator

all the rest are different brands

Indeed, Samsung and LG in Europe are the top sellers in white goods (appliances)

@Abrowneyegirl Having read complaints on these boards for years, I've concluded there is no such thing as a good, dependable refrigerator. There have been numerous complaints about every brand. No other appliance garners so many complaints.

I have an LG counter depth french door refrigerator with an inside ice maker. It's only been in use for 22 months, and so far so good. I chose it because of the overall good reviews.

I have a Samsung side by side refrigerator and after 20 years is about ready to retire. Has an ice maker in the door that still works. Can't kill my LG dryer and love my LG TV.

I don’t know about LG refrigerators but I have an LG washing machine and dryer which (knock on wood) have been great. I have a couple friends who have had Samsung refrigerators that have stopped working and one friend I know had a hard time getting it fixed under warranty. The last time I went appliance shopping when the salesman pointed me towards a Samsung I told him no Samsung.

Well @Abrowneyegirl I had better introduce myself to you as someone who is happy with her Samsung refrigerator. It's a nice size with a freezer on the bottom. I'd definitely recommend it. Granted, I can't keep the stainless steel from showing fingerprints but that's my family's fault, not theirs.
