Re: Any vintage Pyrex collectors here?

I love the vintage Pyrex, Fire King, and Corningware. They were made well and in a time where things made in the USA were prime and people in factories took pride in their work. I feel they are work horses in the kitchen....tried and true...and stand the test of time. Lots of good memories of with these old pieces too Smiley Happy

I so agree! I love seeing that made in the USA, or made in America emblem on the bottom. Now that takes me back. Made in the USA bakeware and utensils are collectors items.

I had no idea. I didn't know Pyrex could be ""vintage.""

Not a collector, but I have a lot of old Corningware I inherited and got when I married. Those big sort of oblong roasters are WONDERFUL!

I have the small custard cups that I use for veggies at mealtime or for desserts. Also have 2 old bowls with circles in the glass. Really pretty for serving at a potluck.

I have many pieces and would not part with them for any money!! LOL I have pots and lids to fit each and every one , I have bowls, teapot and coffeepot. I use these everyday. Like them and when you are cooking anything you can see what is going on... I have the clear pyrex!

Have loads from every relative...Pyrex and Fenton milk glass...really need to purge cabinets. Pyrex gets those spots that I am not a fan of...

So I shouldn't ditch those old harvest gold mixing bowls---or the pie plate commemorating the bicentennial?

Or those Corningware pans with the vegetables on them that they always show in movies and TV shows about the 1970s?

Re: Any vintage Pyrex collectors here?

I collect vintage pyrex mixing bowl sets; I have sets that belonged to my mother, grandmother, and great aunt that I know are from the 40's and 50's and would never part with them. I also have a lot of corningware that I have collected...I find the Goodwill is a great source for it.....when they said they were discontinuing the pyroceram in the cornflower blue I found as much of it as I could...I now have 8 square saucepans that I use in the micro, oven, and stovetop....7 of them I found at the Goodwill for next to nothing....with lids, of course! The French White line they came out with I can't stand...chips easily and can't use on stovetop.

I used to love seeing the different vintage pyrex mixing bowls that were used on Paula Deen's show...it was fun to see her using some of the same ones that I have. You are so right....they dont' make 'em like that anymore!

I wouldn't toss anything Bicentennial ... unless you plan to be around for the tri-centennial.

I packed up a bunch of old Pyrex today (instead of donating) because of this thread. Make me an offer.

Re: Any vintage Pyrex collectors here?

I used to collect Pyrex bowls and rectangular containers. I have around 25. Most are Olive green with little white flowers. My favorite is a 3 bowl set in rust shades with a wheat pattern. I have the original box. I used to have more, but I pared down my glass collection.
