Meredith did say during the shows I caught that food would turn out better if it was defrosted.  Now obviously that refers to foods (meats, fish, etc) that we elect to freeze and not to foods that are from the frozen food section.  Those foods would be cooked from their frozen state, the way we purchase them.

I didn't see Meredith demos today.  Does she spritz the food with a little oil before cooking?  I see her cookbook in paperback is $5 cheaper on Amazon with free shipping for Prime members.  Advanced orders.

Meredith said in one of her presentations she does spritz - for color, texture, and taste. She uses olive oil.

eta she uses a mister -not canned oil and if you don't have a mister 1 to 2 tsp and coat with hands.

@hopi "1 to 2 tsp and coat "  that is how I have always prepared my oven fries & I like to add garlic , onion powder and paprika also.

@Renata ty for mentioning the blue jean chef's website it looks very helpful. I signed on for the e-mails. I like her approach to cooking!

@Susan Louise sorry I am a little late to the party here but (for me) the only things I fry frozen are things like french fries, fish filets, chicken patties, etc..  I love a frozen burrito out of the air fryer but I take it out overnight and put it in the fridge so it is thawed and they come out great.

I believe she said her guide was on her website (havent looked it up sorry). You can definitely put them in frozen. Air frying luckily isn't an exact science. You have to play with a bit and just see what works. I usually look up whatever the instructions are for regular oven cooking (or if it has convection oven instructions just use that) - and I subtract about half the time from the regular oven cooking time, check on it - and just go on from there. Things cook much more quickly so tha tis the biggest learning curve.

Acutally its $10 cheaper if you count Q's $5.50 shipping! I am totally fine waiting until December 1st for that big of a price break.

@ctinaw @Kachina624 I found her Air Fryer cookbook on Wal-Mart's site for $13.72 + free shipping but it does not ship until 12-28. Worth the wait for me since it's half the price of what Q wants with shipping + tax.

I have the Power XL fryer that Eric sells on QVC.   I pretty much follow the pre-sets on the fryer, but I do reduce the time since I prepare small portions of food.  I have only used oil once when I cooked a boneless turkey filet.  I used just one spray of olive oil from the EVO oil sprayer QVC sells.  (cheaper at Amazon)  The seasonings seem to stick better, but on most items for me the oil isn't needed.  When I try vegetables I will probably spray them.  I use my air fryer several times a week.
