Well Tinkrbl, I like the looks of this watch also. It caught my eye. So I immediately went to the details and it's only warranted for 1 yr. Hmmm. That's over in a flash and you've got $150 something in it. I've been lucky, I haven't had much for watch breakdowns. I see that it has a mineral crystal, which is normal for this price point. I like the 38mm case size too. So you are going for your first chronograph watch. I wish I would have stopped at one but it seems that is all they made for quite some time. A real attractive watch and it has a chrono dial. Dials which I never used and it also took away the big sweeping second hand. On a chrono this large sweeping hand is locked in place because the one smaller dial is where the second hand dial is now. If you let the larger sweep, because you like the looks of it, it tends to wear down the battery much faster.
I liked the pink, and I think I own more pink watches than the regular gal. It will be interesting what you decide to do.
Now the S. Coifman I just purchased is backed by Invicta, I guess. It also looks like the warranty is for 3 years. Is that how you read it, LavJ?

Jena: Yes, Invicta bought S. Coifman a while ago. And Invicta has changed their warranty to an automatic 3 years, at least for purchases on Evine. The 5 year warranty still applies to some older watches, purchased before they made the change.
Watch warranties are an interesting thing.... for inexpensive watches it's often not worth the cost of send a watch in for repair. Invicta now charges $28 for shipping and handling for warranty work. And you still need to pay for shipping and insurance to get the watch to them. So, sometimes, depending upon the cost of the watch and how long you've had it, you decide it doesn't pay to send it in. Of course, more more expensive watches it's nice to have the longest possible warranty.
I don't know where my break point is on the cost of a watch vs. the value of sending it in for warranty work. In general, if the watch was under $100, I probably wouldn't invest another $28+shipping to send it in.

Jena, that Renato Sapphire is very pretty. Unfortunately, I came late to the Renato party & never got one of those. I do have 2 Wildebeests on the lizard strap, a Beauty & a Vulcan & have been giving them some wrist time lately.

I bought a second Invicta Lotus (643-715) when the price went down to $137.50, so I now have the rose gold and SS. I've been wearing them a lot this summer, mostly because they are lighter weight than a lot of my watches.
I seem to feel the weight of those heavier watches more when it's mega-hot and humid outside. I still haven't used any of the leather straps though. I like to wear them with the bracelet loose in summer. I can't stand anything at all snug in the summer either. But maybe this "winter" I will try them out.

aprimo: it's always a good sign when you like a watch enough to buy a second of the same style in another color or metal. I'm glad the Lotus is so successful for you and you are enjoying it this summer. I too look for smaller and lighter watches in the heat and humidity of summer. I find the ceramic watches are comfortable, and also leather strap watches that have narrower straps and lighter/smaller watch cases. In the winter, I'm strictly a bracelet watch wearer. I much prefer the metal bracelets to leather straps when the weather is more comfortable.

Since we are looking at watches lately, how about J332299, Vicence 14KG, 38.3grams on clearence for $2779.00 here at QVC. Such a lovely delicate watch, love it but look at the Roman numeral 6. Upside down. Can you believe it? I can see why it's on clearence, for it really stands out that it's wrong. Would you not think, those Italians would know you can't send a watch to America like that? Other than that, a beautiful watch.

Wow, that's amazing that it was accepted by QVC like that. Very unfortunate too, because it's otherwise very attractive (although not my style).

Nice to see a watch topic here. Is any member here a fan of the watches
the female hosts wear? I like Carolyn's Tag Heuer and the new one
Mary D has. I own a small collection of Invicta watches..

Lisa: Welcome to the Watch collectors thread. I hadn't noticed the watches the hosts wear, but now I will pay more attention. Tag makes some lovely watches, but I don't own any. I do have quite a few Invicta watches.... from divers to SAN and some gemstone bezel pieces too.
I love the blue dial of the watch in your picture.

It's possible that the upside down 6 was intentional... a design element. I have heard of some designers doing things like that for interest on the dial.
The watch is beautiful. The bracelet is stunning. I think the roman # 6 was done that way on purpose... although they should have mentioned it in the specs, maybe it's in the video. But the description says Swiss parts movement....
for that price... it should be a Swiss made movement. I guess they figure women only look at the outside. I don't like to be underestimated. If I were spending those $$$$ I would want all the details on the watch, including the movement details, the water resistance level, and information on the composition of the crystal. The upside down 6 wouldn't bother me. ![]()
