Her original ring looked like 2 flowers on a diagonal with the sapphires as the center stones.  Looking down on the ring, all you saw were many prongs.  Not pretty !

 

But she loved diamonds and worked and saved to but them.  Glad she got to enjoy them.

@Shanus and @jlkz - What special treasures you have, or will soon have! 

 

I had one female cousin on each side. The cousin on my mom's side was married twice, and her first husband came from a very wealthy family. A few years after they divorced she had her engagement ring made into a pendant. She was older, and I remember thinking that seemed like a strange thing to do. Now I wouldn't think so!  Smiley Wink
