VALENTINES GIFT

[ Edited ]

I had a 2 very small diamonds left from eternity band whe my rings redesigned years ago. I asked DH to have it bezel set on a 16" gold chain. It's being made now for Valentine's Day. Heart  I had the rope chain in my stash of unworn jewelry, just paying for the labor. We tried to purchase one, but all are 18"....way too long for me.

I'm excited since I've wanted to have a sturdy chain w/ diamond for awhile and will keep it on all the time.

@Shanus  My Mom had a beautiful diamond wedding ring, and when she went to Heaven my jeweler shaped the band into a heart and put the diamond in the center.  I never take it off it's on a beautiful gold chain my husband bought for me.  I love having a part of my Mom close.

Good for you having the  diamond & gold necklace at the ready .  Todays prices are to dear. I've been thinking of repurposing my engagement ring  of a center stone and two side trillions  into a pendant  since I mostly wear  a wedding band with bezel set  diamonds . I like the  low profile  for every day wear.

When we finally found the "cocktail" ring my mother left me (Alzheimer's issue), my jeweler and I tried to create a ring from all the stones.  Nothing looked good.

A year later after my father passed, I purchased his diamond pinky ring from the estate.  The three diamonds made the perfect center piece of the design !

Here's a picture of my " Parents' " ring:

After my mother passed, I inherited her jewelery, along with some from my grandmother, and my great-grandmother.  I had my grandmother's engagement diamond reset, and I wear it on my right hand continually.  As my mother also wore it, I feel very close to both when I wear it all the time.

@hayseed00 My mother also had a beautiful gold heart ♥️ on a chain with a few small diamonds. I'm not a fan of yellow gold so I had the jeweler dip the heart in white gold and I bought a beautiful new white gold chain for it.

It is a lovely keepsake that belonged to her and now I have it and wear it often.

Thank you.

When everyone stopped looking for her / my ring, it was found when my dad was looking for a paper clip:  she had placed it in the bottom of a small bowl filled with clips near the table.

When she passed while in the nursing home, my sisters had to literally go through everything in their bedroom: they had to carefully undo all the sanitary napkins in the box.  Nothing got thrown away without a thorough search.

Just a thought: Before we took Mom to the nursing home, we took anything real or looked real and stored it in a bank safety depost box. There were nurses coming and going when we weren't there. Many thefts had been reported by the children of other residents.

@Shanus Sadly this seems to be a common occurrence.  My mother also "lost" a few items.
