@just wonder @Pagan + all

As to WHY.

It might not have been a Q decision.

Remember, John Hardy sold his line only a couple of years ago.

JAI was always done with Hardy designers and owed by Hardy.

It might be that the new Hardy owner no longer wanted to support  a JAI line; it might not have been economically sound these days. Might be phasing out this affordable Hardy line.

Scott might (or might not) still be working for Hardy's new owner.

He might (or might not) be the Creative Director for a new line, affiliated with Hardy or another. Sounds as if the message was subtle: Stay tuned . . .

Scott says on Facebook that leaving was his own decision.

My fingers are crossed, with all the observations people have mentioned, he will have a new line somehow, somewhere. He has designed some really wonderful intricate things for Jai in the past. I'd almost rather he didn't reappear on QVC because I think the buyers have too much control and that's probably why we got a million iterations of the box chain line.

I hope he leaves all that box chain stuff to Shani!

Actually, Shani seems very competent and I reckon if she can pull off a tiara while presenting on QVC, I wouldn't mind seeing what else she can do!

A wild guess - and truly a guess (based on no facts whatsoever) - but, I won't be surprised if he comes back to QVC as a host . . .

I would love to see him as a host... I always enjoy his presentations and stories. He is just an easy person to watch!

I would also like to see Scott remain on air with QVC in some capacity.  But I have a hard time imagining world travelling Scott selling mattresses, vacuum cleaners, and lawn chairs.

@Caaareful Shopper   I agree, that was my first reaction.

However, they do not have a jewelry expert.

What if -- he was hired as the jewelry expert, a specific type of host.

Obviously not full time.

But could be involved not only in on-air jewelry shows, but working with buyers.

Again, I didn't have this on my Bingo card, but . . .

Scott is creative person, not a sales person. I was wondering about so many new designs coming recently, it is so sad he is leaving, right when they started combining silver and gold.

I looked at John Hardy many times, and I don't have a single piece from them, and I love Jai.

It is a sad time, Bixby is almost gone, AW is gone, and Jai is gone too.

I started my collection buying a couple of John Hardy pieces on ebay.  I loved the pieces with gold and silver, but could not afford them in a store.  When Scott came to QVC, I loved his pieces even more than Hardy's.  Hardy pieces were so dark and oxydized.  Scott's were brighter and more feminine.  I hope that he starts his own line.  He is so creative and talented.  It would be great if he could create pieces the way he wants, without answering to anyone.  He has such a large fan base that he could start out ahead of most new designers.

This is a dark time for QVC jewelry lovers.  Most of my jewlery comes from QVC.  So many of the great designers have left or sold their businesses.  The quility is no longer there.  For example, Eterna gold was such a great company.  After selling, there are so many complaints about poorly made pieces that I would not want to buy from this brand.  I hope the same thing does not happen to JAI, but without Scott's attention to detail and determination for quality, I am afraid that it might.  Again, I just hope that there is a new brand soon that is totally Scott's vision and is in Scott's control.

OMGOSH!!!! so so sorry and dissappointed to read and hear that Scott Grimes is stepping down from Jai and moving on to other adventures. While I understand I'm sad I will miss him, the presentations, and the passion he has for JAI JEWLERY...I own at least 14 braclets which include a combination of gemstones, and the 7.5,mm braclet and both the middle and smaller gauge of the status bracelet.Neckalces 5, earrings several pairs and rings. I love the quality, weight, beauty and asthetic of these pieces I also purchased the last TSV he presented recently the necklace with hammered beads along with the matching bracelet. With him stepping down I will not be purchasing any more pieces...Just like when JUDITH RIPKA left I'm glad I purchased the pieces when she was on QVC so I have a fabulous collection.Scott you will be missed thank you for blessing us with your presence, passion, dedication, honesty, humility, candor and positivity. My arm will always be well decorated.......BEST WISHES TO YOU AND YOUR FAMILY
