I just read a message from Scott on FB saying he was stepping down from Creative Director and Shani Louis will now be presenting the line.

yes, i was surprised.

just read it on his facebook page about an hour ago.

Hi my friends,
The past 10 years have been an incredible journey for me as the Creative Director of JAI Jewelry. A journey that I never even imagined but am so grateful to have had. But, like all journeys, no matter how special they are, at some point they must come to an end in order to begin a new.
I wanted to take a moment to thank each of you for your love and friendship over the years. You are the reason I have loved each day I’ve been with JAI.

When I take a moment and think about it, we really have had the most incredible adventures exploring together. We have traveled through Africa, India, Thailand, Alaska, Japan, and Italy. Each destination unlocked a part of me that allowed me to become a better person, designer, and storyteller.

Yet the biggest adventure that we have shared together is our adventure of life. You all have been with me for the most important stories of my life: the birth of my daughter Olive and son Christian and the passing of my Mom and Dad. Over the years we have shared tears of joy and heartache, and along the way you have opened your heart to me and shared so much and that has meant the world to me.

It’s been an absolute honor to travel and create on your behalf, I hope the designs that I have brought to you bring you a lifetime of joy and happiness and each time you look down I hope you think of our special connection.

I’m excited to see what Shani Louis and the JAI Team do next, as I will be following along to see and hear about the next great JAI adventure. I’m sure it will be wonderful.

A huge thank you to the entire QVC Family for 10 years of love, support, guidance, and laughs. It’s been an honor to learn from the best.
Please know I am looking forward to having the Summer to enjoy my family and create new memories that I know will last a lifetime. I turned 50 this year and as you know, your children are only little for so long and I plan on making each moment count. Life is a blessing.

Lastly, as I have done for so many years here on QVC, let me quote my Mom one last time and say; “This isn’t goodbye, it’s just a moment until I see you again…. I love you.”

Until we meet again.... Scott

(This page will remain my personal page, please follow along and let’s stay in touch)

This is just a guess...and we may never know.  It really is his own business.  Maybe he wants to spend more time with his family.  Laurie Flet has done that.  She wanted to spend more time with her family.  Interesting.

But we may never know unless he anounces why.

Thanks for letting us know.

I am a huge JAI fan.  I have never met Scott but have always wanted to.  I feel like I know him because of all that he has shared on air through the years.  I am very, very sad to see him go.  I have so many JAI pieces!!!!!  I have three on the way that I bought from this week's JAI clearance shows.  Yesterday, I was kind of beating myself up about buying more when I have more pieces than anyone needs, but now I am glad I did.  I can't imagine never getting to purchase another one of his beautiful designs.  What I also can't imagine is not seeing him and hearing his stories again.  This is a big loss for QVC and the viewers.  I wish him well and hope he continues to have adventures.  I hope he knows how much he has blessed so many with his talents and kind words of encouragement through the years.

@sunshine45 Thanks for posting this as I am not on Facebook and appreciate being able to read it on here.

While I am not a huge JAI jewelry lover I do have a few of the pieces and they are very nice.

I did enjoy Scott and his presentations on the Q and I actually did meet him once.  When he was in Alaska we stayed at the same lodge as him.  We had several conversations over the days we were there and he was very nice, seemed genuine to me just like his personality on air.  I will  miss seeing him on the Q but I assume maybe the traveling part was becoming too much and certainly wish him and his family the best in the future.

Wow, talk about timing, for me anyway.  I was on Zulily this morning and purchased a Jai bamboo ring with black spinel.  I only have two other pieces of Jai, and one of those prior pieces was also from Zulily.  The low prices were too good to pass up.

I don't like most Jai jewelry, but I like Scott.  I wish him great happiness.

I’m not surprised at all. Well, maybe at the short handover period. I thought she’d be doing all the clearance shows for a couple of months and then she’d step up to the main ones.

I knew as soon as Shani made her first appearance and was then full on in all subsequent shows that Scott’s time was done.

I think the Jai line is chasing a different demographic now.

Forgot to add: I had also noticed that for a long time now he’s not been posting about the inspiration for forthcoming collections, as he has done in previous years.
