Peruvian Pink Opal

[ Edited ]

Have you ladies ever heard about this gem? It a lovely soft pink opal and very feminine. I love all kind of gems but this one is special for me. It's found in my homeland.

If you have it tell me about it.

Yes! I bought the last pair of these studs. They have (8) white zircon accents in the corners and (4) pink tourmalines in the gallery. The opal stones are 6mm. They are beautiful! I can't wait to get these home! This is my first Peruvian pink opal purchase.

@Margui

Are you from Peru? I learned to speak Spanish from a teacher who married a Peruvian from high up in the Andes. He has some beautiful pictures of Peru.

  • @SilleeMee : Beautiful studs!  Mine are the flower earrings (the photo is on muy other post). I bought another pair on Etsy couple of years ago. Unfortunately, the color on those are not even. I may change the gems. Opals are not cheap.

@Margui

Those flower earrings are so pretty. Did you say that your homeland is Peru? That country has been on my bucket list forever and a day. Someday ...

@SilleeMee : Yes, I'm Peruvian, but I have not been there since 2010. I hope soon.  I'm from Lima, the capital which is in the coast, not in the Andes region.

Beautiful!  I'm like many of you in that I love gemstones.  I'd rather have a gemstone than a diamond.  I think diamonds are boring.

I keep telling my girls that they must remember all of the jewelry with gemstones are real.  It's hit or miss with the diamonds....many are Diamonique...

Anyway, I have a few pink opals but they aren't as beautiful as the one's posted.  They're lighter pink.

I have quite a few green opals.  Some are very large.  I'm so afraid my girls will think they're fake because they are large...they're not.

I used to buy expensive jewelry and my late husband used to give me expensive jewelry.  But as my girls got older, they said they weren't interested in wearing any of it (I like ....big jewelry and I wear a size 10 & 11 (like my feet) Ha!

@Margui  You have exquisite taste.  I love looking at gemstone jewelry.

Are any of you ladies in the same boat as me?  I mean my daughters and granddaughters aren't interested in my jewelry.

They used to visit and come out of the bedroom wearing every piece they could fit on their little bodies.  So funny, so many cute pictures.

I like for everything to match (i.e. shoes, clothes, jewelry color, etc).

I don't care for the color pink so I don't wear it much.  But I've had trouble coming up with the color pink (jewelry).  I've looked at these pictures several times.

Thanks for posting the 'eye candy'.  I love the color.  Smiley Happy
