I can only speak for the bangles and I believe they are pretty light to begin with. The bangle I have in the parts where the gold is flaking off shows something like a dual track that is covered by a light covering of gold to begin with.

Good luck. I could never get someone to return a phone call from there, or even an email. Other people have told me to just mail my expensive piece of gold to the p.o. box listed on the warranty I've had from years ago, but I didn't feel comfortable doing that, since their P.O. Box address could have changed, so then what would happen to my expensive piece of gold? But no one would verify the return info, so my piece never got repaired, to this day. I hope you have better luck.

Esmeraldagooch, is your local jeweler able to remove dents in your EG? I didn't think about taking it to a local jeweler. Was the price reasonable?

I'm one who experienced sending in my item (earrings) and getting back earrings that were much lighter.

Maybe you could weigh your item and send it for repair with a letter stating you will NOT accept a repaired or replaced item unless it is of the same weight (or a little over).

Course, they might do it anyway and then you'll have to fight with them to get what you deserve. Why not check with your local jeweler first to see if he/she can fix it before sending it in? Get an estimate of cost. Might be worth the $ and less of a headache to go with the local jeweler.

I have two pairs of EG Hoops and they are the ONLY earrings I have ever had that dented! They would probably be $250-$300 now to replace, so I'd never send them for "repair". I don't let anyone get close enough to see the dents anyway LOL!

I returned a slim gold cuff with a loose hinge. I really loved that bracelet, and I wasn't sure a regular jeweler could fix a hinge. I got a brand new identical bracelet back...and in only 2 weeks! That bracelet sells for $300, so I was impressed. I have heard other not so great stories, but mine had a happy ending.

I think their terms are they will send you a piece of comparable VALUE, not WEIGHT. Say you paid $300.00 for a bracelet 18 years ago. They are going to send you something worth $300.00 now, not the $1200.00 your old bracelet would be worth today.

Well sad. I think some of the previous complaits were caused by this.

So, truly, you're getting cheated.

Nice way to run a company. Glad I'm not a customer anymore.

You might call QVC first and ask them if they have a comparable bracelet in stock. I've heard they have sent a replacement over the years.

I have had no problems using the warranty. Aurafin Co. is not Eternagold - Leach and Garner Co., they have a contract to do the repair or replacement. I was told they do not have office staff to handle phone calls.

When I sent my jewelry in I sent photos of the damaged item and wrote a letter detailing what I would accept as a replacement (giving examples of what Q had in stock). I also had the weight detailed in the letter. Further, I gave my phone number and email address...and I did hear back from them since I asked them to email me.

The replacements came with a description with the weight noted and my pieces were slightly heavier in weight. Let them know it is unacceptable for them to send a lesser wt. item.

I would send the item back USPS Priority Mail (free boxes or mailing bags in the lobby) which is tractable on line, and insure the piece for the full amount.

Good luck with your return. I hope you are as satisfied as I have been with their service. I did have one wait period of about 6 weeks around the holidays if I recall.
