Today I noticed when wearing a pair of Michael Dawkins pearl earrings that the earrings seemed to droop - I do not recall that happening in the past, but maybe I didn't notice!!

Anyway are there specific backs that help the earrings stay upright in the ear lobe?  I did google but there were a lot of different styles - I am not interested in taking a chance, I would prefer a real life experience/review.  thanks

I like the ones that have that small plastic disc around the metal part in back.  That seems to give them more support.

I'm sure there are, a quick google search and I saw some.

I bought some large stainless earring backs from eBay. The steel is weighty but not heavy and that helps balance the earring so it doesn't droop forward.

In the jewelry industry they are called "monster backs." They come in gold too. Ross Simon is one retailer that sells them. Tiffany's have them in their Service dept.

Thanks, I have the ones from Hobby Lobby, but they do not hold the earring 'up'.

If you happen to have any Honora pearl stud earrings they have particular backings that hold the stud up on the ear.  If you have them try those backings on your other earrings.  I believe Honora called them "happy backs"

@Mom2Dogs   If you have a Michael's store nearby, in their jewelry making section, they sell the larger backs...also Amazon. Try to purchase stainless steel.

Thanks for the replies - my ear lobes do not look any different than a year ago - but the earings are droopy - unless I never noticed -which would be hard to believe, as I always take one last look in the mirror before I leave the house!!
