I was about to ask if anyone still irons!  My friends think I'm nuts to iron anything.

I don't necessarily like it, but I wear cotton shirts exclusively and they need to be

ironed.  I do not dry them in a clothes dryer because I fear they will shrink. You

would not believe the number of shirts I have waiting to be ironed. I have back

pain constantly and can stand long enough to iron two or three shirts at a time.

I've tried sitting on a stool to iron but don't like that. At one time I had a woman

do all that ironing for me at a great price but I've moved and no one around here

seems terribly interested in ironing. My ironing board has become a fixture in

my kitchen but when I'm tired of walking around it and moving it back and

forth I actually put it away. It's not stored for long though. Enough for now--

I have ironing to do!

Hate ironing.  Have not ironed for years.  My washer and especially dryer are marvelous, not to mention I don't buy anything that wrinkles if I can help it.

I only do laundry once a week.  It's an all day chore but it's so nice to have an empty hamper for all of 12 seconds!

I used to use Arm & Hammer Unscented but have switched over to All Free & Clear - I think it does a better job.

I have never ironed a day in my life and probably never will.

I don't iron a lot, because our lifestyle and the clothing we wear don't really require it.

But I have to say, that dress clothing, things not put in a dryer, and all cotton clothing require a pressing or they tend to look unkept.

I don't care about what I look like here at home, cleaning, cooking, mowing grass, or working in the garden and orchard, but when I leave the property, I don't want to be wrinkled.

Most of the friends I have that brag about not ironing....look like they don't!

I don't mind doing laundry. I use Arm and Hammer and Downy pink capped softener. We have allergies to some detergents so I do not experiment anymore. We have had severe cases of hives and little itchy dry bumps with Tide and Cheer and even some All Free detergents. I  hate ironing. Boring!!!!!!! My mom had 5 children all attending Catholic School which meant 5 white shirts a day. Can you imagine the time wasted on that ironing pile. My mom finally said no more and hired an ironing lady. One of the best decisions she made freeing up so much of her time!!

@Bunnies, to relieve fatigue and back strain while ironing,  it's "One foot up and one foot down".  Keep one foot on the floor and prop the other up on a footstool, a box, a book, whatever's comfy. Switch off, elevating the opposite foot whenever needed. Occasionally I just sit DOWN away from the ironing board for the length of a song.

Ironing is a skill that's not taught anymore.

I was taught How-To iron a man's shirt. Then my brother paid me a dollar per shirt just to iron for him. I was only about 10 or 11. I felt rich! And I had earned it.

I use Scentsy's laundry line and love it.  Full disclosure, I am a Scentsy consultant.  However, I honestly love Scentsy's laundry line.  I have very sensitive skin and have no problems with it.  And it is forumlated for energy efficient machines as well as standard.  And leaves your laundry smelling clean, but not overpowering.  And it cleans very well.

I enjoy doing laundry. I use either Nellie's or Charlie's detergent. I don't like to iron, I use a steamer for most things and iron only when I have too.
