I have 12 windows in my sun room with mini blinds for each window.  One set of blinds is broken - can't get it to work properly.  I removed it from the window but was wondering.....do any of you know whether hardware stores like Ace, Menards, Home Depot, Lowes, etc. do blind repairs?  I can try calling around, but I was wondering if any of you used one of these stores, and if so, did it work out well for you.

Could you just buy new blinds for that one window?

I tried to get a wand replaced at either Lowes or Home Depot.  They said they're all different and it was too old (no longer made).  So I do without.

Store repair - you can ask them but assume it depends on which part broke.

The pull string - the plastic rod to open and close?

I would go TO the store rather than calling them.  Usually phone ans people don't have a clue.

If store has your style & color - just buy a new one - as suggested.

If it's an older blind, you probably couldn't get an exact match on the color.  Maybe put it in a corner?  It was the plastic rod that snapped on mine.  I went to the store to inquire about it.

While you didn't mention what the issue is, the only blinds I've ever gotten parts for were some pricey Levelor mini blinds.

I got a new wand, S hook and sleeve sent to me by the company but that was ages ago.

If you're talking re-stringing, new slats, etc it may not be worth the cost to repair.

I would call a company who specializes in blinds.  I had verticals and they were missing slats I called astore that specialized in custom blinds.  Turned out they came from there.  They fixed the track and got me replacement slats.

Not sure  quality of blinds, mine are Hunter Douglas.  If bought off the shelf at home depot, etc. you may just have to buy a new one.

Good luck!

I had the up/down cord snap on mine and took it to the paint/hardware store where I bought it and they sent it out to be fixed. I wouldn't have known to do this except that I ran into the lady who works there at the dentists office and told her what happened.

Now mine is broken again, the cord that comes out of the bottom of that plastic toggle thing that you use to pull the blind up and down came out. Just have the toggle and cord above which means being short I really have to reach to pull it. I have it taped really tight around the toggle so hopefully it won't open and fall off. Mine is on a 4 foot wide window so it's relatively wife for a mini-blind.

I was going to take it again for repair but I can't remember how to take it down!! DUH. Last time my brother-in-law took it down and put it back up for me but he has passed away. Everytime I pull the blind up I cross my fingers.

That's expensive. Esp. since most mini blinds are custome made.

Google "blind repair" with your home town.  You might find a small business that does it.

In my city, we have a store that repairs and installs blinds (privately owned, not a big box store).
