It seems like more stuff daily is coming shipped in plastic envelopes lined with bubble wrap. Amazon's website says Walmart will accept these. Does anyone know for sure? And what about those paper envelopes lined with bubble wrap? Yes, I can ask people at Walmart, but I'm trying to get a laundry room cleaned out today.

Wal-Mart is now taking in our garbage?

Take a pair of scissors, slit open the long side of each envelope, fit them inside each other and throw them in the trash.
Here's why:
Had a dog who managed to get his head and neck wedged tightly in a bag (chips?). When I got home he was near death, desperate for air.
I had a hard time getting the bag off his head, and when I did, his eyes were bulging and tongue was cyanotic.
Whether destined for recycling or landfill, I just routinely cut plastic handle loops open and slit open the side of every type of bag now, since they started lining bags with airtight plastic or mylar.

@x Hedge. What a horrible experience! So often dogs and cats, attracted by the yummy smell, stick their heads in plastic bags. Thanks for the warning.

I'm confused. Does Walmart accept recyclables? I'm not sure what you're talking about @depglass .
@x Hedge Thanks for the warning. I do cut the handles of bags but never thought about actually cutting down the sides. I'll start doing that. What an awful experience for you and your dog. I'm so glad you got home in time!

The Walmarts I visit will take those flimsy plastic bags (like the ones they use) to recycle, but I'm not aware they accept anything other than that.
They have a big box in front of the store where you can drop off your bags.

@LonestarBabs I did before asking and couldn't find anything other than that some stores accept electronics. Thank you for volunteering the information though. 😕

Our walmarts don't offer recycling, but our main grocery store will take the plastic bags.
