Re: Warm Tones in the Library...

It's very masculine, I would have to lighten it up a bit and replace some of the furniture and add some nice Reading Lamps....

Re: Warm Tones in the Library...

I would have a contrasting rug to offset the dark wood and put myself in that chair with my book and be good to go!!!!!!  Love libraries.

There is not much I like in this room.

Heavy, ponderous, dark and gloomy.

Like others, I'm not fond of the side table, but I have to say, I really like the artwork over the sofa!

I see an elderly business man in this room.....not that there's anything wrong with that.

Traditional, old world comfort.  Nice!

That's sort of where I'm at with this one @Oznell... For sure, there are things I'd change, but I like the sort of comfortable vibe... I also like the sort of cocoonish feel one gets in a darker room... I wouldn't want every room in my home to be on the dark side, as I love light and bright as much as anybody, but I do enjoy a dimly lit really solid looking environment sometimes...

I can't get past the floor.

Is that tile with grout lines that Huge? I can't tell on my iPad.

I'm all for cozy, comfy, cocoonish rooms, but this is just ponderous.  And if the floor is meant to lighten it up, it's a fail -- looks like it belongs in a hallway or a kitchen.

Re: Warm Tones in the Library...

My thoughts too, @stevieb.  You can always quibble with this small design choice or that design choice, but when looking at a room, I tend to respond most to an overall vibe.

This one no doubt would be in a house with lots of other rooms, lighter in tone perhaps.  But this library says to me confident, deep-dish elegance for a quiet hideaway..
