Re: Tim Gunn Collection looks Gorgeous!!!!!!!!!!!

I am a fan of Tim Gunn, but was disappointed to see his bedding line. It is beautiful but nothing I haven't seen before. With his fashion design experience as an educator and mentor; I really expected more of a wow factor. Instead I found his collection to be safe and predicable.

I like the Oxford striped sheets, but there's no information about the type of cotton, so no buy for me. I do wish QVC would put more information in their description. Of course, for that price, it probably isn't long-staple, single strand cotton.

I found it to be rather cookie cutter. Nothing I would actually purchase.

I am kind of excited about his line also.

I looked at the new items and they do look very nice. I love the colors he's chosen. Really neutral and can fit into anyone's home.

I hope we see more of him! IMO there have been too many home décor lines at QVC that have come and gone to my disappointment! I wish QVC would step it up in the home and linen dept. and perhaps Tim is a start to that effort.

I could be totally wrong, but that likely has more to do with QVC than Gunn. QVC is not about edgy fashion or design, it's about safe and predictable design.

Did you see the Project Runway episode where Lisa Robertson was a guest judge and the winning dress would be sold at QVC? I picked which one she was going to choose immediately because it was the only one that could be sold on QVC. Everything else was too form-fitting or too edgy for QVC. QVC wants things that will appeal to the masses, and that usually means safe and predictable.

The problem with these sheet-comforter sets is I use queen sheets and king comforters, so I have to buy separately.

I never thought of Tim as being "edgy". (The PR designers might be, but Tim isn't)

He's conservative and classic.

It does look pretty and I'm glad for anything new on QVC these days, especially where decor is concerned. That said, I'm not sure bedding would've been my first choice for new and different.

Sad but true and given that, it's sort of amazing how often they seem to miss the boat... Clearly though, QVC is all about volume sales these days and only about volume sales, it seems.
