********  I think Ben and Erin seem the type that probably guarantee their work.  I know this was a young couple and the house they bought was a big brick colonial type house.

The colors are serene and pretty but not bright or beautiful at all.

The room is just OK...looks like anyone could design it.

Re: Their clients asked for bright and beautiful

After reading the other posts, I am assuming the couple sitting there designed this? I've never seen or heard of them.

I think the room is nice and inviting. I don’t see bright at all.

Yes, they are the designers....... Erin and Ben Napier. Their show is called "HomeTown" and it's on hgtv.  They live in Laurel Mississippi and they love their little town and are improving it "one house at a time".  As I watch their show, I see she is improving more and more as time goes on. While Erin is not my favorite decorator, DH and I get a big kick out of them on their show.  They seem like a great fun couple and Ben, her husband, can do things with wood you wouldn't believe.  That's why my husband loves the show.

Re: Their clients asked for bright and beautiful

I enjoy watching Erin and Ben Napier. They have transformed houses I thought should be torn down or torched, into a nice home for their clients. Regardless of the budget, the end result is very nice.

As much as I enjoy watching their show, I would rather pay a contractor to perform the work I want done, and leave the designer aspect out. I am not crazy about what Erin does with fireplaces, hate painted wood floors, not a fan of slider or french doors, the color blue is a huge no- no, and my bathrooms would be handicapped accessible with higher toilets, and shower only, no claw foot bathtubs.

Re: Their clients asked for bright and beautiful

Thus far I have enjoyed their program and have not tired of it.  Like most of these type of programs, they stage the house after the major remodel.  I don't know if the homeowners get to keep the furniture.  As for other more permanent items (wall paper, colors, flooring) I am sure they are in close contact with the homeowners.  The one thing I have not seen Erin do yet is a more contemporary interior.

Re: Their clients asked for bright and beautiful

I find the shades of blue to be dreary.

Bright to me, is painting your walls a color that even if it's pouring outside, the room is still *bright*.  That's what I go for.

@jubilant

Thanks for the info. I rarely watch HGTV anymore.

Seems to me that this should be the before picture.  Not seeing bright or beautiful.

Re: Their clients asked for bright and beautiful

There is neither bright nor beautiful in this room, not for me anyway.
