This room looks unfinished to me. I don’t understand leaving the area over the fireplace bare. Some window coverings would help warm up the room. The area to the right looks empty. Maybe they’re not finished yet? Maybe they just moved in? Maybe they just like sparse furnishings? What do you think?

I’m not loving the furniture choices or colors either. The views are nice & the rug is ok. I love the windows, floor, & architecture.

Re: Please finish decorating

My first thought is that would be a lot of windows to clean. I do think something on the fireplace would look nice.

Re: Please finish decorating

I like the room itself with the beautiful views, but it definitely does not look like it is completed. As far as decor including furniture, accessories, and window treatments it needs some color. It doesn't feel like a home the way it is.

Re: Please finish decorating

I had a blank space over my "new" sofa for at least 3 years I think -  I wanted one good-sized piece and couldn't find one that pleased my eye, so I just left it open.

My mother's walls look like that.  She had almost nothing hanging on any of her walls.

Need hidden remote control blinds. Color throw pillows. A metal something hanging over fireplace.

Perfect to me! I am not a fan of finishing touches.

Re: Please finish decorating

What a great space.

  • Modern end table between chairs
  • More interesting, colorful rug
  • Artwork above mantel
  • Leave top windows open, but some kind of blinds on lower windows

Re: Please finish decorating

It is a beautiful, open airy space, and I love the area rug, and the windows, however it does need some color, and some window treatments, to finish it off and look a little more homey!
