Re: ONE CONSOLE TABLE, DECORATED FOUR WAYS

@Oznell

Yes, I think you and I are on the same wavelength here.Woman Happy

I love the closeup look of the Coastal table.

I think you're right, the books would look better all one color....maybe ivory, ohhh, I know....maybe keep the accessories all tonal or pastel/weathered beachy tones with different textures so that the visual clutter of the accessories are minimized so the beautiful seascape art and console can be center stage....that might be fun.

Or maybe all tonal ivories with a pop of your beautiful striped or splatter vase? Nice!

Also, I agree, I'd definitely keep the lamps (they look good here), the vase on top of the books needs to be bigger and I would get rid of the 2 other shaped vases by the right lamp.

These accessories would be fun to play with there, maybe......

I like the console, however, I couldn't live with any of these add-ons in the photos shown.

Not a fan of anything on the walls that were picked either. Cat Indifferent

Perhaps some plants would help, I'm not sure.  Those pics were confusing to me.  And the chairs were all bad.

Re: ONE CONSOLE TABLE, DECORATED FOUR WAYS

I think each example is overdone.

I would hope that if someone owned this piece of furniture, that they would show constraint while decorating it with items that hold personal memories that they treasure and that they use cohesion with its surroundings.

I also think that it doesn't take a decorator to create a snipit like this; anyone could do it.

I don't like the credenza, reminds me of my mother's SCandinavian phase where she boiugh a bunch of Scandinavian furniture and rugs at a local store's fire sale.

I guess #2 for the paintings, but the credenza wouldn't work in my house.

My brorthe still has the Scandinavian dining table and chairs and they are still great, BTW.

This credenza in order to have a wall art composition that sends the eye soaring, needs to have one piece of tall "something," whether it is a tall lamp, art or "sumpin' hanging from the ceiling on one end while the remainder is low.  It could be made attractive.

@twinsister ,  there are several versions of that splatter vase, but Amazon has a pair ( love that there are two in the set, of different sizes) .  If you search "Teresa's Collections Navy and White Porcelain" there, they show up.  I have them and attest that they are fun and versatile.

Here's an online picture showing the small one too.  The bigger one is about 10 inches, and the smaller one is about 6 1/2 inches.   I display them many ways-- together, separately, mixed with a solid navy gourd vase, or mixed in with my small milk glass collection,  (which they look surprisingly good with) etc. etc.

@wagirl ,  way to go with your "back of the sofa" sofa table!  I love that look, would have one myself if the room was wide enough to have one behind the couch.  I think I had figured out that you like midcentury too.

@Iwantcoffee ,  I like the way you would edit the Midcentury one, a "cleaner" look but still punchy.

@GingerHead ,  those are great ideas, thanks so much for illustrating them with images.  LOVE those rustic vases, which would look stunning in that look;  ditto the pale books which make me think of sand and surf, perfect!

@Oznell

Those splatter vases are pretty. The ones you showed above kinda remind me of flying birds.....lovely!
