I'd rather have something like this.  Although the print wouldn't be my first choice.

This one is much better! The pieces are thoughtfully placed on the console, and even though I don't love the art, it makes a statement and does not compete with other wall art.

I like the consoles.  I'd lower the legs though.  I could see it painted all in white too.

Re: ONE CONSOLE TABLE, DECORATED FOUR WAYS

Love all this input, which is making me think!

I can see why some have focussed on the 'clutter' angle-- most of the vignettes have plenty of objects, especially Glam/Traditional, #3.

I was looking at them strictly through the "style" lens, "Coastal",  or "Modern" etc.   But for my preference, they do have more objects than I'd like.  So, I'll name my favorite, but say what I'd remove, like @shoptilyadropagain .

Mine is the Coastal.   @GingerHead ,  as usual you've hit on most of what I like!

I wish there was a closer-up wide shot to post here.

I'd keep the pair of lamps-- even Emily Henderson said she was bored by her lamps, but I like them in a Coastal look-- clean, and they don't detract from the other colors and textures.  I'd keep the stack of books, but use solids.

Keep the textural ivory woven vase.

Not bowled over by the manzanita branch, but would likely keep, for a different texture and evidence of wind-swept nature. Lose the tiniest vase, but keep the blue one.  It has interesting character, but ideally, should be bigger.

Or, I might sub it out for a vintage English Cornish ware or Chef ware pitcher.  There needs to be something antique or vintage in the mix :

White and blue are so coastal, without being a cliche.  Or, if I wanted to inject a little Contemporary in the mix ( and as someone very eclectic, I always do) ,  I'd sub in a blue and white splatter-type vase:

Of course, I'd keep all the paintings and the charming, naive chair.

My second favorite is the Midcentury vignette, and it's also the least crowded, but even it could lose a few things, as @just bee noted.

@twinsister ,  I wish you still had that vintage molded chair too-- a Fifties' classic!   I also would love to have a few of my parent's midcentury pieces, including a kidney shaped couch, abstract vase, and modern brass and glass side table, sigh...

@just bee, I love that you found an image to post!  I prefer the rich wood tone and the straight legs of that credenza/ buffet by far.   Also like the classic record player on top, total midcentury bliss, Sinatra ready to play or maybe Bobby Darin or Dave Brubeck...

I'd have to remove everything to the left of it though, including the art, and start over.   Those objects seem somewhat random to me.  Would love to see a classic Isamu Noguchi lamp from the Fifties on such a great piece of furniture...

@Judaline ,  I think those round things are candles, since I'm pretty sure the things below them are midcentury candlesticks.  I can't stand the shiny round candles either.

Re: ONE CONSOLE TABLE, DECORATED FOUR WAYS

First off--am a huge mid-century fan--and I do love that console!!

I had a raggety narrow sofa table that my sppouse dragged home-Woman Frustrated couldn't use it anywhere except my brilliant mindWoman Very Happy decided to "hide" it behind a sofa that was flat against a wall in my livingroom--and  that is what I decorated per each season,  then up the wall with art and other stuff---it looked really nice , it got that sofa away from the wall, gave some dimension to an otherwise square box of  a room, hid that ugly table too. I had assorted runners that covered the top of it too. Plus, not being someone who has to cover the whole house with decor, it was a dedicated spot to go wild, if so desired!

Oh, no, you don't want to do that. It tells how old it is! That's the charm of it.

Re: ONE CONSOLE TABLE, DECORATED FOUR WAYS

@Oznell  Oh, so they're candles. Glad you don't see the charm in them, either. I used to have a beautiful coffee table. I had I think 4 different things on it. FF to grandkids. My favorite things- gone. Now I've got little things they love to move around and re-arrange on the table  . It's fine. This too shall pass, lol.

I feel most drawn to the mid-century modern. I prefer the wall art to the others.

On the console table, I would display the lamp, books, blue vase, and vase with lemons.

Sorry, but there's nothing one could do to make that piece of furniture appealing to me. Ugh! Not a style I could ever embrace.
