Hi pbb. I have a Bosch stove, duel fuel, which means gas burners and electric/convection oven. I bought it nine years ago and I love it. I can use the gas cooktop during power outages and would never go back to any other cooktop. This was my first convection oven also and I love that. Cooks about 30% faster and I noticed a huge difference especially in the way my meats taste. You may get more response in the 'in the Kitchen' forum. A lot of great cooks on these boards! Good luck with your choice. LM

Have been pleased with my Bosch range. No issues.

When it's time to replace, I'll go with a single oven but I want it to have the convection option. Friends who have them say they are great for things like crispy oven baked fries.

I got a Whirlpool convection oven about 6 months ago and love it. You can choose to use the convection feature or the standard baking feature. This is the first convection oven I've ever had. Baking Christmas cookies this year was a breeze - they were perfectly crisp and browned. I've also used it for roasts, cakes and pies. Mine is a wall oven, which is all that would fit in our galley kitchen (short of knocking down walls). My friend has a duel fuel type stove similar to Lilysmom's stove. Hers isn't a Bosch, but another high end brand. She loves it. If you've got the space and an existing gas line, go for the duel fuel.

I also have a Bosch with convection and I love it. First, I had a middle price range sears which I had to return because the door was bent by the delivery people. At that point I ordered the "top of the line" sears stove that I think was an Elite?. Well, that one came with a crooked stove top. Sears sent me a new stove top and on the box it was listed as a Frigidaire part. Enough said.
The moral of the story: I should've went with the Bosch to begin with. High quality and great cooking using convection. Mine has convection roast and convection bake with a temperature control probe, dehydrate mode, sabbath mode etc. Holiday cooking is a breeze. Go for the Bosch.

I love the convection oven. I have a Frigidaire Galaxy and didn't buy it solely for the convection feature, but it is fantastic. I can cook a turkey in 1/4 less time and it is never dry. Everything comes out so good that I can't imagine having just a regular oven again.

Why am I the only one that doesn't notice a difference with my convection oven. I have two, one in my cottage and one here. My turkey for Thanksgiving seemed to have actually taken longer with my convection this past year! I hear the fans going and I know its working but any more quicker? Nope!

ID2, I don't know if this will help. If you aren't already doing it, place your roast on a rack. The air needs to circulate around the meat. HTH. LM

I had a single oven Whirlpool Gold that I really liked. It was a convection oven and I wasn't impressed with the convection part. It seemed to dry out foods IMO. I never used that option.
When we got new appliances (changed color), I hated to part with my Whirlpool.
We replaced it with a double oven GE Profile. I really love this one too. We did not get the convection oven on this range. I didn't care for it.
The bigger bottom oven is low, but I rarely use it. I find myself using the little oven 99% of the time.
I love the 5th burner which is a keep warm burner. Be sure it has that option.
