Re: New Luminara Candles & Lanterns by Martha Stewart

I saw these and thought they were lovely.  I do love beeswax candles but the fact they are Luminara is a deal breaker for me.  I have had six of the Luminara flameless candles and all six stopped working within six months or so.  Others seem to have had great success with Luminara but I prefer Candle Impressions for long term performance.  I do love the flameless candles and hope QVC will offer more brands, shapes and colors.

I really like the beeswax Luminara pillar candles and would consider ordering later in the Fall, if they're available. It seems an odd time of year to promote wax candles. I can't imagine how they would hold up to mid summer temperatures in transit. It is nice though, to see something new and different from Luminara, paired with Martha.

I'll be interested to see what she brings for the Christmas season. I hope she expands her line into home decor. Wouldn't mind the higher prices if it's well made and tastefully done.

@Maltichonmom17, I received a set of the Bethlehem Lights Moving Flame wax pillars last week, and they were not melted in this horrible heat.  They didn't even have the Styrofoam (insulating) surrounding them and still they were ok.

@@SHOPR, that's good to know. I wouldn't have thought wax candles would survive the trip in the summer heat.

@SHOPR, I just now ordered the square candles in the Bedford Grey; love the square design.  I am thinking of the pink for my she-shack.  I love the newness of the square design!

While the Martha Stewart Candles are really "Luminara", I get a kick out of Martha's presentation, "as if we have never seen these before" and she invented it.   She makes these seem brand new,.   The colors and designs may be.  However, the technology is not Martha Stewart.  Luminara stands on it's own and did not really need Martha.

Re: New Luminara Candles & Lanterns by Martha Stewart

I couldn't figure out if the beeswax pillars had a honeycomb scent or if the honeycomb was real or stamped process. I have real honeycomb tapers my MIL gave me years ago, I never burned them, and they still have a sweet honeycomb scent.

The birch covered candles can be found at BBB, but they don't have the melted top, they're flat. I bought 6 last year; we went through each box and found the look we wanted. Some are plainer than others. And even though I paid individually for them, they were cheaper there with coupons.

Hmmm, I didn't use coupons that day, BBB had a military discount for Veterans Day that brought the price down even more.

So for saving good money last year, I bought the cedar ones today to mix the colors of wood. (That's the way I think! lol) I hope I get a good darker wood look.

I love the colors and the finishes but no more Luminara candles for me. I have two of them in lanterns and four other candles that stopped working within one year.

I just don't trust them anymore.

All of Martha's outdoor power tools are Sun Joe.  She puts her design stamp on their basic stuff.

@Nomore, I watched the whole show and at one point Martha emphasized that all her candles are unscented.   I don't think she was presenting any of the bee items when she said it, though, so there's always the chance they could be different in scent I suppose.
