I lived in a high rise in West LA for about 20 years ..... the views and sunrises were spectacular!

One memory that comes to mind .... I was on my terrace watering the roses when there was suddenly a loud BOOM in the air. Coming from nowhere, I suddenly had eight gigantic olive green helicopters flying in formation right by my building ... the size and noises were unbelievable.

Well, I found out a little later ..... they were military helicopters flying into Bel Air, a very exclusive neighborhood nearby. Ronald Reagan had just died that morning, and the choppers were either going to escort his body out, or the soldiers were going to be posted for protection nearby.

A historical event .... and I'd never been so close to military vehicles in action before .... quite a sight!
