@LindaSal, I have one like yours, I love it too. Looks nice, easy to keep clean.

I've always kept mine under the sink in the cabinet.  I have a small plastic one.  I also have a pantry I could put it in but I prefer under the sink as I am used to it there.

In some of my past homes I had to leave an unsightly garbage can in plain view in my kitchen. I hated it!! My last house and the one I live in now, I was sure to have it built in to my cabinets. Happines is less clutter.

They have some really pretty colored stainless trash cans.  QVC had one on the other day in black & rose stainless I wanted it so bad but it was too big for the spot I have my trash can.  I'm am trying to find it in a smaller size.

How about something like that, it hides the trash can nicely and also provides an extra counter space Smiley Happy

I have to leave mine out, it's ok looking, not huge and it has a pedal to open the top....works great for me, as I can be messy at times when cooking.  The footprint is pretty small so does not look out of place.

If I had mine hidden away the door to open that area would be filthy as many times as I pitch 'things' during the course of the day.

When we moved into our house, there was no space under the sink for a garbage pail so we got a stainless steel Simple Human one from BB&B. Best purchase I made for this house.

Re: Kitchen Trash Can

[ Edited ]

I have a small rectangular plastic bin under the kitchen sink, but also a stainless steel Simple Human bin in the kitchen area.  I got it from Sam's Club during one of their sales for $50 several months ago.

It replaced a previous Simple Human can we'd had for about ten years that finally broke.  The lid is controlled by a sensor and opens as you approach it, so keeps your hands free.

It's not the one shown in some previous posts; a different version (slimmer) by the same maker and it's perfect for us.  The bag is held in place under the lid so no part of the plastic bag ever shows.

It's similar to this one on QVC:

@FlowerBear Mine is in my pantry with small recycle bin. If you have to leave iy out, maybe those fancy ones would be worth it.
